Maybe SC will take that NSA job, then she may get to make some decisions.

Calling what Oracle has a "Cloud" is a stretch. For the most part, it is a bunch of leased datacenters and the networking isn't even complete between all of them. "Hosted compute" or "hosted apps" is more accurate. Oracle isn't even in the same league as the other companies mentioned in the article and the move to protest the decision is just trying to buy time and avoid Wall Street catching on that Oracle isn't going to be winning any significant Cloud business outside of its SaaS apps.

It does not surprise me. Oracle has a very bad reputation the Fed space. They are still using the same old tactics (audits, law suits, contract protests, power Exec meetings). Now, they have to bring in the big dog, SC.

Really?? Bringing in a multi-millionaire corporate exec is really going to scare the Pentagon's bureaucrats? I think it finally has caught with them. It's such a desperate play. Time to check out.

This article pretty much illustrates Oracle's approach with clients in general. Entitlement and Zero customer service with Jurassic era software and our database. Did we mention we invented the database. This gives us all the credibility we need. We are done.
