Useless team leads

Hey need to weed out team leads !!! Specially over the fresh departments . Or just make fresh managers in charge and no team leads . I’ve been with the company many years have been a team lead . I’m a hard worker I’ll come in when asked worked over nights and never was appreciated at the club I worked at . It seems the leads and associates that walk around and do nothing all day get the appreciation . I’ve seen them going on multiple smoke breaks ! Never in there department but when I’d bring it up to management there excuse would be there working . Maybe corporate needs to look at leads as well . And when you do your walks and the sales floor look horrible you can hold the team lead accountable.

I’ve been in the department I work in for many years almost 2 decades and I know how it’s supposed to run . I see leads blind ordering , team lead missing 7 hours of the day and maybe working an hour there whole time whilenpunched in . Corporate look into your team leads !!!!!

I am a meat TL and being told I get the freezer and cooler now. Is this correct?

Team Leads in fresh departments are extremely necessary. The Deli/Rotisserie/Cafe/HMS team lead does an insane amount of work, and honestly should be split up into two TLs. Meat and Bakery are necesssy because FPP needs to be accurate and everything down to spec. Produce is MAYBE expendable because there isn’t any paperwork involved. However, we have constant layout changes, as well as needing to maintain cleanliness and product management.

So let me get this straight. In this thread we have multiple team leaders saying they do not take their breaks, which by the way, is against the law in most states. How can you be a leader in your club while not following a policy that is a coaching up to and including possible termination?

I'm a team lead and I never take any breaks except lunch and that's usually an hour before I leave for the day. I'm the one that stays when everyone calls out. Not every team lead sits around all day.

It sounds like you should step up, become a lead and be the example everyone should follow.

What about the credit and member champion? I always see them hanging out at jewelry and mobile doing nothing.

I'm not and never have been a TL, being a COS twice was bad enough. The majority of our TL''s are the workhorses of our club. I'm the Receiving Clerk and we count on each other to solve merchandise issues.

Most of them are experienced and bust their rear ends.

I agree leads do all the sh-- work all while managers are laughing settling in office eating. The one bashing leads is a manager really we feel what your going through. We are probably next anyway, but hey if it makes you feel better.

Exactly. I hardly EVER take first or last break. And I end up taking my lunch right before I leave. Basically 8 hours + no breaks

All right. Couple of things. I don’t know what the leads do in your club. I will tell you though, as an overnight lead, I work from clock in to clock out, non-stop. Half the time, the only reason I take a lunch is because I have to. I don’t take my breaks, I continually stay late, I stock an area and make sure the rest of the club looks good for members in the morning. I’m not saying that some of your leads aren’t bad, all I’m saying is that to paint every lead with the same brush is asinine.

Not sure what you are talking about but here. TL’s do 90% of the work. And work any and every hours. The bad ones get weeded out...
