I've only worked for Sam's 2+ years and I work in wireless and I got a cobra letter in the mail. I am part time as well work 16-23 hours a week. So I don't have Sam's health insurance but I do have their dental and vision. My co-worker who works in wireless who is full time said she received a cobra letter as well. And she said that is the letter they send to people who get laid off. So I take it this is a sign we are losing our jobs in wireless?

It's not all tl just the ones being laid off. Get facts straight !
It is odd that some got cobra packets and others did not. Looks like all managers and leads or the the only ones who received this packet hummm. Can’t get a straight answer or anyone who knows anything.
Cobra is the evil and nasty organization that is out to rule the world. Good thing we have G.I. Joe, Yo Joe!... And knowing is half the battle.

COBRA is insurance that you pay for, not your employer. Upon separation, employers are required to offer COBRA.Your monthly COBRA premiums will be the total cost of your health plan premium plus a 2 percent service charge. So if Sam's pays for a portion of your health insurance, you will now be required to pay the entire premium. Also Cobra is only offered for a maximum of 18 months.

I received a Cobra letter also...I called Walmart Benefits and asked them why I received it...The gentleman I spoke to told me that he didn’t see why I got one...He looked at notes and everything. He just told me to disregard it.
My GM told me everyone is getting the letter. So I started asking everyone at work. My findings made me concerned. Of all of the people I asked and it was a lot! Wireless and optical people were confirmed and everyone else I asked had no idea what I was talking about. Not a good sign.
Looking it up, yeah it looks like COBRA is a law that makes employers continue to cover associates if they would otherwise lose them
