The truth about Mondelez and its Strategic Innovation

I have copied and pasted a paragraph from nasdaq.com (full link is below).

It is 100% clear, DSD is going away. The following quotation is the main take away from the paragraph below. "The primary objective of the 2014-2018 Restructuring Program is to reduce the company's operating cost structure in both its supply chain and overhead costs. The program is intended primarily to cover severance as well as asset disposals and other manufacturing-related one-time costs."

The last 4 years they've been restructuring. By the end of 2018, it's very clear DSD is finished for Mondelez. 4.1 Billion dollars is to cover Severance and asset disposals.. well we all know what that means.

I've been skeptical on whether or not DSD is done.. but read for yourself.. I don't think we'll be done in April like some have posted.. however, I believe by end of this year (or Fall) we'll be done.

2014-2018 Restructuring Program

On May 6, 2014, the company's Board of Directors approved a $3.5 billion restructuring program and up to $2.2 billion of capital expenditures. On August 31, 2016, the company's Board of Directors approved a $600 million reallocation between restructuring program cash costs and capital expenditures so that now the $5.7 billion program consists of approximately $4.1 billion of restructuring program costs ($3.1 billion cash costs and $1 billion non-cash costs) and up to $1.6 billion of capital expenditures. The primary objective of the 2014-2018 Restructuring Program is to reduce the company's operating cost structure in both its supply chain and overhead costs. The program is intended primarily to cover severance as well as asset disposals and other manufacturing-related one-time costs. Since inception, the company has incurred total restructuring and related implementation charges of $3.3 billion related to the 2014-2018 Restructuring Program. The company expects to incur the full $4.1 billion of program charges by year-end 2018.

A couple of things..

1). No part timers will receive any severances.. if they do, it'd be little to nothing at all.

2.) Just because they have incurred 3.3 billion dollars out of 4.1 billion does not mean they've spent 3.3 billion... they could 2.5 billion of the 3.3 saved and ready to hand out as severances (just a thought).

3.) even if they only had 800 million to cover severances... I mean, that'd cover nearly all severances, if not all.

I'm not claiming I know When DSD is done this year ( if it all). If could be 5 years from now...

All I'm saying is it seems pretty clear to me from what I've researched and dug up.

We won't really know until facts pour in from the mouths of cooperate.

So looks to be 800 million left for restructuring. Is that enough for severance and costs of letting go of the sales/ merchandisers/ management?

DSD is going away

It's a matter of when not if at this point.

My guess is end of Q2.

Walmart is taking over in April.

Walmart took Keebler over 1st

Then other chains followed shortly after.

I agree and also that the timing may be a little longer than people are predicting. As a result the company is trying to mitigate the potential problems by having these so called "rally" meetings. They know the rumors are out there and cannot afford a long period of people thinking they are losing their jobs so they are trying to make people feel comfortable. Last time there were rumors they had a regional meeting to tell us our jobs were safe and to ignore everyone, 1/3 of the sales force was cut 60 days later. People should realize they will say whatever they need, just like they will ship whatever they need. Sad but true, nobody's got your back!

Thanks for sharing!

That should open up the eyes of people saying this site is " fake news"

DSD is coming to a close for Mondelez.

Walmart is taking over in April.

Other chains will follow shortly after.

We're definitely gone by year's end.

My guess is at the end of Q2
