PTO already changed begining of this month. Instead of making stuff up, get on the wire and read about the new changes people!

I think they mentioned something when PTO rolled out last year about enhancing the program in 2018. If I had to guess, I think they will allow you to cash out some of your PTO time during the year, not only In February like it is now. This would make total sense because the company would not take such a large one time hit during the company’s slowest sales period (February).

For example, say you what to cash in some of your PTO hours in November to use for Christmas shopping. Maybe you want to have some extra cash for your summer vacation, cash in some of your PTO time. The company knows that whether they pay everyone once a year or at different times throughout the year, they still have to pay out those extra PTO hours. Giving us the flexibility to cash out whenever we want is good for us and helps the company spread out all those payouts.

Honestly I would rather take my time off from work rather then get the pay outs. Time away clears your mind and when you come back your refreshed and ready to work.

Last year I cashed out around 260 or so hours. This year I’ll cash out 139 or so.

That’s a lie. FT get paid out over 80, PT I think is 48. Those extra hours will be transferred into PTO Protected bucket. Once you start accruing, your hours will be split into 2 buckets: PTO and PTO Protected.

You will still get paid out next year for PTO just not your Protected PTO. You will continue to accrue PTO Protected even over 80 hours. You can use PTO protected if you run out of PTO.

I can see this happening they didn’t realize that associates would rather have the pay outs.
