Got rid of right people

I see people bemoaning losing good managers, but our store lost two people who really needed to go a long time ago From where I stand, this was a really good thing, at least for our store.

Is it really that rare of an occurrence that actual bad managers were let go? I'm having trouble believing that...

We lost one today that has needed to go for a long time. If you are one of the "favorite associates" then you are most likely scared and sad at the moment. Those who have covered for you and made you look good are gone. Now you have to actually do your work.

I Second, you being among the lucky ones. I've seen Managers and leads who should have been let go stick around for a long time but have then seen good and competent managers and leads let go for seemingly no reason. I've long said the more incompetent you are, as long as kiss the right asses you'll go far. This whole thing just seems to further my point.
