Managers

Now we gonna be left with the piss poor managers who probably will have a chip on tbeir shoulders, all associates need to watch their backs. All who have 20 plus years have a bullseye 🎯 on their backs, surely every can see the pattern of the process of elimination. The sad part is the company will never be the same if they can treat managers like sh--, what do you think is next for us.

I'm a manager and been with the company for 20 plus years. I started as a hourly and you are wrong not all managers enjoy the younger workers. I myself prefer the long term associates they need no supervision and actually take pride in there work. The very seldom call in and when they do you know they are really sick. Some of these younger ones have a runny nose and feel its ok to call in and could care less what a burden it puts on others. I made the cut and I am a overnight mgr and was actually happy when most of my crew told me if they would of let me go they would of left the company. I was an hourly once and what made me want to go into management was because the way us hourly's was treated and I told myself I would never become one of those mgrs and I haven't and never will. I treat everyone like I want to be treated and I seem to get the most out of everyone. Learned long ago you get much better effort out of happy workers. I promise you I have no chip on my shoulders why would I. Im like most on here just waiting to see what direction the company is headed in. You mgrs in the club have no control what direction the company is moving in and I promise we hate this as much as you. No one wants to see people lose there job especially not long term dedicated associates, why would we out jobs just got harder.

Whether or not long term associates are valued, the bottom line is you need long time employees. Member service in our club is horrible. I attribute it to the huge turnover of cashiers. Our members get used to the same faces and are troubled when they see the new "younger" generation who move like slugs. You need longevity in any business to be successful.

Quit blowing smoke. The true fact is the company hates longer term associates as they are paid the most, have the hardest time trying to change, they are complacent, they are mostly in non member facing areas ie claims, receiving etc .

The same is true as long term managers as they are viewed as not being able to change to the new ways of working . They tend to challenge things more , they have a maverick style mindset . All of these are not wanted as Regionals and market manager’s . They want to control and micro manage everything. They don’t want people to speak their minds ..

Wake up !!!!! You are a number and they could careless about you

This statement is so far from the truth! As a manager we value our long term associate! Yes we depend on them greatly but despite what the company feels, as managers our long term associates are the glue that holds us together in times like this. Associates will go through changes but are not obligated to sacrifice as much of their personal life as managers. Yes there are managers that do not care but I am speaking for a majority that do care. Truthfully speaking, we keep our spirits up all the time to bring the team together in the most stressful of times, this is a great opportunity for long term associates to lift their managers spirit. No manager in this company could possibly feel good right now. We are struggling with our own morale and could use the support. There will be change but it’s doubtful this type of change will come down to hourlies. Most of us will not take it out on our hourly associates either. No one has a bulls eye on their back just expectations to make sure we all survive. Terminating an associate is never an easy thing for any manager, and more difficult when it comes to long term associates that have dedicated their life to the company!
