Thread regarding Sam's Club layoffs

all on market and regional managers

If these people would have used the policies in place and coached people out like they do hourlies some of this would never have happened. But since the pressure is on sales all time of worrying about visits and meeting budgets lots of these managers slipped thru the cracks. It has nothing to do with long term. Now they have to be the bad guys well I `guess they are earning their money this week along with their 10% discount they get at Walmart....Sorry I don't mean to hurt anyone's feelings. I think this company has gone over the edge with this massacre of managers.

How can anyone have a bad walk from regional or home office teams when you are taught how to track corporate plane tail numbers? Genius.......

But what about the ones that had no coachings (didn't deserve any either) Was a good team player all around. Helped where ever help was needed. Had a positive attitude and could get everybody involved in special projects. Has been with the company 20 plus years. Started with Sam's from the beginning. Maybe they didn't like his work ethic? idk, but it just doesn't make sense to me. Just glad to still be on board (for now)

This is nothing short of a total failure of Leadership from the Top to the Market level. It's a contagion, get out while you can. There is no Spin that can clean this up. It is and will be the Seminole moment this Company fell.

Poor training indeed. That's assuming people had the options to get into things in the MC-40/TC-70s or even the old telxons. Hell many of my managers have/had no idea what CIM really was or how to tell where stuff was on the floor or in reserve steel. When Costco and BJ's are expanding brick and mortar stores, and growing online sales too, it becomes readily apparent how just how poor the leadership is at the top, and how it just trickled down.

I agree, Regionals put pressure on the market managers. Market managers then get scared for their job and start coaching people to cover their own azz.

At the end of the day, the only people to blame is the poor leadership. How do you allow this many people to be “ bad “.

Let’s face it sams has horrible training , they don’t properly prepare anyone. Most associates don’t know how to print a sign, etc. yet we wonder why managers fail.
