Thread regarding Mattel Inc. layoffs

Why will revenue stop going down in 2018

Please tell me what chance we have to stop losing share. MGo seems super optimistic but where exactly is the change of trend? Polly Pocket? Come on.

Not saying Mattel management is not to blame on FP and AG but times change and consumer tastes evolve.

AG and it’s overpriced doll strategy was never sustainable. It definitely had a shelf life like everything.

And FP was just not cool anymore. It was your parents go to toys for toddlers but certainly not for succeeding generations.

Consumers are not brand loyal. And time makes everything irrelevant. No matter who manages it.

Agree that FP and AG were successful for a time before Mattel totally infiltrated and managed "out" the good leadership and killed the brand, hence the phrase "after 24 yrs" resulting in the state they are now in.

Don't mistake founders with leaders. The founders of FP and AG were not crooks, the founders of Mattel got pushed out of their own company for being crooked.

Wrong last poster, Mattel may have owned FP and AG for 24 years or so but they let them be run by the management that was already in place for many years with no input from Mattel leadership. That is when they were profitable. Once they got rid of the "old school" FP and AG leaders, they tanked.

Cleary after 24 yrs of Mattel's mgmt of these entities, there was ONLY Mattel leadership or lack thereof, regardless of the location.

Take a look back at years past and you will see that FP and AG were the money makers - before MattHell inserted their inept leaders into those companies that is. Almost immediately they tanked, that should tell you something. You can include HIT in that mix as well.

the leadership at FP & AG are just as much a cancererous albatross as anywhereelse in the company. their numbers s---ed. knew those crappy drivers weren’t going to sell overpriced hunks of plastic

Not all founders were crooks. Spin off Fisher-Price and American Girl and let them try to revitalize the brands. They used to be respectable!

Because of the new Hot Wheels connected system, of course! M-Go knows tech makes everything better. "I want more smart wifi internet hot wheels for my 4 year old!" cried no parent ever.

To the last post......what fantasy world do you live in? This is what capitalism has become. Time has caught up to Mattel. Even the founders of the company were crooks. Put your energy and effort into something worthy

Her statements about restructuring were ridiculous. Who did she really push out? a bean counter and peons. None of the idiots at the top who've been steering the ship. She's sitting back polishing her golden parachute for her inevitable glorious descent into her next venture at ours and the stockholders expense. If someone on the board had some common sense their next person to run the ship should get a low base salary with performance incentives based on company success. start them with a tin parachute and make them earn that gold. Not just give it from the start. What incentive does she have? If she fails she still gets a massive payday.

I CHALLENGE HER TO RIP UP HER GUARANTEE AND SHOW SOME SWEAT EQUITY IN TURNING THIS DUNG HEAP AROUND!! Otherwise she's just another empty suit riding the gravy train.

Pathetic.
