Thread regarding Enbridge Inc. layoffs

I feel for all my former colleague

I left Enbridge last year when I have found an opportunity that was too good to pass on.

I've enjoyed great colleague at Enbridge. But I have been underpaid for years! I understand that this company is not in great shape (lot of debt, stock is declining..) and therefore I didn't expect much from Enbridge. All I can say to the rest of you guys is to keep your resume up to date and to spend time networking.

Invest in yourself, learn new things, explore the job market and stop being stressed out all the time.

Good luck to all!

"I just show up an hour or so late and leave an hour or so after lunch" and yet you still collect your paycheck and STIP that you're obviously "entitled" to. With employees like you stealing the company blind, it's no wonder we have had to have more layoffs. Hard to invest in employees when they're not in the office or off "not giving a care." Because of people like you people who care were exited, don't blame Al and his band of "clowns" blame yourself and people like you. It's doubtful you and the others will go anywhere else because nobody wants you. But it's a lot easier to sit around and blame others for your own shortcomings and lack of marketability. You keep riding that gravy train, STIP will be out later this month and I'm sure you won't be giving any of it back.

If you got stocks in the savings plan, you can just sell them. You do not have to wait until the ship has sunk completely. 20% share price drop in one year is a real clue that the bottom is near, especially when the TSX went up about 10% last year and the Dow was up about 25%. When the stock goes down this much, it surely means that institutional investors (like big pension plans) are unloading it en mass.

Don’t you lose a pile in share return if the company goes under or did you not get any stocks during your 18 years?

My heart goes out to everyone who was affected. It happened to me too, so I truly empathize.

I hated being treated like a prisoner. Took me a long time to recover.

I have strong doubt in a company that doesn't invest in his employees. Employees are the best assets until the cash runs out and then they cut on training and salary increases and conduct yearly layoffs. You are way more productive when you feel appreciated. Too bad for them!

Agree. Worked here for 18years. It's a sinking ship. I really don't care. My wife and I have set ourselves up to be just fine. I used to think I could have an impact and help the company. Now I just show up an hour or so late and leave an hour or so after lunch. It's a big joke now. I'd bet the whole company is under in less than 3 years. Until then, not giving a care, doing the bare minimum and waiting for the clowns to cause the circus to fold.
