Every new layoffs round Sam's Club gets closer and closer to blatant age discrimination. At least that was the case up until now. Do we know the ages of those who were shown the door today? How many of them are in their forties and fifties? I'm really curious about this.
I'm wondering if those on top have become to complacent and actually crossed the line...
I am off today and haven't heard what happened. What areas where effected today? I am long term and lost my position last April?
My husband has been with sam's since 2008 never had any problems up until this new manager started running the front inn , he has purposely harassed my husband and he was COS he was forced to go back to cashiering or the manger told him he would lose his job. Now this same manager has picked on him daily. my husband is a full time employee and now this same manager has only scheduled him for 3 days of work next week. So my husband went up to talk to him about it and he told him they are over budget. So he goes down to cashier and the next thing he knows the manger comes down and tells him to load.. He loaded all day. my husband has worked in every department at sams and even was shot at when he worked outside in one of their gas stations. I feel he is most defiantly being discriminated against and one of the other mangers that was laid off told my husband he needs to watch out because this manger is after him. This is most defiantly a hostile work environment and my husbands sugar level is through the roof right now over the stress this man is putting on him.
We lost two, one young one middle aged, neither were long term. They were both bad and needed to be changed up (not fired but not in leadership roles)
I heard it's more about longevity, not age...
the 2 that got it at my club were both in there 30s the manager in his 50s got to stay
