On 25th and 26th Jan some of the US employees were part of layoff. 29th and 30th Jan a lot of Indian employees are part if layoff. More are expected om 31st and 1st Feb.
Note: If you get a sudden meeting invitation for a 1:1 with an improper or unspecified agenda then it means you are going to be a part of layoff.
In India, once you enter the meeting room you will see your manager either in person or on video conference, primary HR and a secondary HR waiting for you. As soon as you step in the meeting room the junior HR sends you info to the security team/back office team and your access card gets disabled immediately and the email password is reset. Then the manager reads a written script, yes, a written script saying "...due to realignment in business your position has being eliminated and we need your cooperation by getting your resignation for which you will be paid a severance" and hands over the conversation to the HR. The HR gives you a resignation template and asks you to give the hand-written resignation on the paper. Once you hand over the resignation the junior HR sends another message to the back-office team to terminate all your accounts. The primary HR hands you a packet full of forms needed for your exit formalities and asks you to fill and hand over them or mail them. The manager does not answer the questions that you ask and somehow tries to avoid you by saying he will pass on the feedback or tries to show how helpless he was. Sometimes even when the manager tries to answer the HR interrupts and says he is facilitating the activity and the Oracle policy does not allow them to answer these questions.
All the above is first-hand information and I lost my job yesterday due to this.
