Assistant Mgr & Hourly Supervisor Changes

Update -

In meetings the last 2 weeks it was discussed the new hourly supervisor alignment.

Elimination will come through the performance evaluation process. Bottom 20% will be eliminated due to performance.

  1. Assistant Managers will go through the same banding process as the CoMgrs have just gone through, but after evaluations. They will be demoted due to performance issues. So no severance payout for elimination.

  2. Hourly supervisors will go through the same procedure as the Asst Mgrs will go through. Consolidation of the Depts will happen based on sales volume by dept for dept mgr placement.

  3. CAP teams will be consolidated and roles will be realigned.

  4. Customer first scheduling is coming. This will prevent manipulation of schedules. You will not be able to add dept mgrs nor associates where the Store manager thinks they need. Stores will have to strictly adhere to the guidelines.

  5. Other changes coming as well, to many to list.

Good luck to all, as you know performance is not based on your ability but favoritism.

DO NOT THINK YOU ARE SAFE!!

Hi everyone, I'm two years removed from the Walmart experience after 15 years of that drudgery. ... Very much of what I'm reading in this thread takes me immediately back to my last 3-4 years in particular, re lack of staffing, ^ expectations, ridiculously high standards for pay raises, etc. etc. I watched that company go from being a decent, ethical business where you truly could pull yourself as high up within it as your ambitions took you, to absolutely nothing but favoritism and politics being the only way people got management promotions. ......... I could easily go on, but I think you all are daily living what I'm describing. Best thing to do with that company is, if you can, get some education, learn some skills, what ever---and get out.

This post is 100 percent wrong and the person posting is a perfect example of a idiot who probably employed as a Walmart associate who instead of being productive, he or she finds a way to start rumors, etc. FYI, Target is hiring, loser!!

Hey @1dpw - my husband too... He's very concerned... A Co-Manager from his store will be laid off, he's already notified...

There is a lot of anxiety today.

My husband is an ASM ... today most of the co-managers at his store were given the option of a severance check or stepping down. He and the other ASM’s have a meeting tomorrow morning about what’s going on. It’s not looking good....

Yes--wouls like to know who you are and how you know this? You the social media policy allows you to discuss work as long as there is no defamation of character etc etc. No reason to hide.

Is the timeline for this March when the annual performance evaluation/discussions for salaried managers take place?

if they are doing away with most co managers and now some assistants then why do we still have a sign placed by most time clocks thru out several stores asking dept managers or anyone interested in becoming asm to sign up me as a department manager for 10 years and this possibly thinking about moving up what kind of incentives do I have to move up if I have to look forward to being let go only in a matter of months

This does make a lot isof sense. We banded our Suoervisors. Where do you think the ASM positions are suppose to come from. We displaced CO’s are suppose to go into. All I can tell you is most of the displaced CO’s I know are going to sit out the 60 and take the severance pack. We can run the building. But no way am I running a store for a CO that was kept and I am twice the performer no way José !! At less pay .. I’m ready to move on... I wish everyone well ...

Sorry, no I am a displaced Co. Wondering if I step down into an ASM role, if I would be banded again in the new ASM role. As if I already don’t trust them, hearing this could change a lot of Cos minds who were thinking about trying to get an ASM position through Regional Selection.

Are the Co managers that are stepping down going to go through the banding process as the ASM’s are? Should the displaced Co’s Be worried about this?

They already did this in neighborhood markets. They did away with most overnight ASMs. They were given lesser jobs but kept the same pay. Seems like it'sh--ting super centers.

Has anybody else heard about this? If so, which ASMs are on the chopping block? Will APASM's be included?
