Assistant Mgr & Hourly Supervisor Changes

Update -

In meetings the last 2 weeks it was discussed the new hourly supervisor alignment.

Elimination will come through the performance evaluation process. Bottom 20% will be eliminated due to performance.

  1. Assistant Managers will go through the same banding process as the CoMgrs have just gone through, but after evaluations. They will be demoted due to performance issues. So no severance payout for elimination.

  2. Hourly supervisors will go through the same procedure as the Asst Mgrs will go through. Consolidation of the Depts will happen based on sales volume by dept for dept mgr placement.

  3. CAP teams will be consolidated and roles will be realigned.

  4. Customer first scheduling is coming. This will prevent manipulation of schedules. You will not be able to add dept mgrs nor associates where the Store manager thinks they need. Stores will have to strictly adhere to the guidelines.

  5. Other changes coming as well, to many to list.

Good luck to all, as you know performance is not based on your ability but favoritism.

HE AUTHORIZED EACH STORE TO ALWAYS GIVE REFUNDS .. WITHIN REASON .. WITHOUT ANY QUESTIONS UP TO CERTAIN AMOUNTS

I DID NOT WANT A CUSTOMER GOING TO HIM ON U IF U WERE A MANAGER .. HE WOULD FIRE MANAGERS ON THE SPOT IF THEY DID NOT TAKE CARE OF HIS CUSTOMERS.

HE SET HIS STORES UP FOR AMERICA TO PROSPER .. once he died it became Little China in no time.
He would hate what Stockholders have done to his company.
He knew how important Comping prices was and they even did away with that.

God help this company now.
It has no core values EXCEPT MONEY and no loyalty to anyone .. Customers or Employees

To all former supervisors: I dont know about the rest of you but come October I am losing damn near 800 dollars a month. After 27 years of being an hourly super this is a slap in the face. I think we should all call home office and bi--h.

No respect for Walmart. Gave decades of service to be sent packing. Manager lacked integrity and didn't treat men and women as equals. There is the illusion they stand for values and respect. People are blinded by the low prices but at what cost? Support a better company that cares about people.

Shame shame shame after 20 years believing in Sam ideas of respect for the individuals and family environment just realized is not really the American dream...by fact is the confirmation of modern slavery, terror and mistreated.
Many Dept Mgr that gave their betters years for that company are disposable now , they only care about business not even customers as they always said.
I Feel betrayed and scammed .

The assistant managers are so lazy at my store. We have one that sleeps overnight till the morning crew comes in. He treats ppl like sh–. He slave drives the hardest workers while others walk around all night. He puts those who work hard on the most freight then we have to go help clean up after ppl who walked all night. He turns his radio off so nobody can bother him during his sleep time. I swear this man won't lift one finger to do sh–. I keep wondering why the hell Walmart keeps giving away money. We have ONE assistant manager that works. They are basically handing these a–holes a check to do nothing and treat ppl like sh–. They could save sooooooo much money eliminating all of them at our store. It's sad!

This is your wake up call. Store leads are the new role replacing co managers. Coaches (elevated ASM roles with more responsibility). Currently, some markets have reached 4 (fresh, front end, replenishment, consumables-grocery) Each impacted role will have to be reapplied for with no certainty you will be selected.

If your store is heavy, weakest links won’t have a job. Team leads (hourly elevated DM role) and Academy Trainers will be created. These roles will be under paid roles with more work. Notable changes included the removal of severance payout and inability to step down. Plan your exit strategy. Expect 2nd to be more devastating directly impacting DM’s

The ASM/Dept manager realignment has already been piloted in the mid-west stores. Any stores out there willing to share the info. on this. This info. about the re-alignment came directly from our store manager. This is happening folks. Think of all the positions that have been illuminated over the last 5-7 years. The claims/receiving simplification, which isn’t simplified. The delegation of claims responsibilities to dms, which makes processing claims longer and more difficult because all the depts are thrown in together. The fact that we have to “rely” on management to “verify” that the hourly associates know the difference between trash, sellable goods and stolen items. Please, WalMart is so busy chasing Amazon, they can’t see the forest for the trees. Hopefully the customers will wake them up. It has already started since the customers are complaining about the FF in CFF scores. The customers DONOT all want to use apps and self checks. They want fast and friendly service. Most of the time the apps and self checks are NOT FF. Wake up corporate WalMart. Stop chasing Amazon and just continue to give good products and excellent customer service. That is given with human contact, not robots.

The Academy is a joke.... Never a truer statement nothing that was taught in the academy is applicable to store operation. We are told to go out and tour every morning but we are not shown how to tour or what to look for when we tour. we are told about section work and shown it for about 30 seconds on the handheld but that as far as it goes. We are told about price changes but not shown how to execute them... now I know for most of you you are thinking big deal.... I'm an external hire I had absolutely no experience with Walmart Technology I had to learn how to receive in the SMART system with no training at all because the Receiving Clerk was on Vacation, the back up receiver was on LOA, the person who was supposed to be there to cover called in sick and the AP ASM did not respond when I called her.

This is 100% true and I know this because I am a ASM for Walmart and have been for years. Here in Florida they’ve already began to cut out CO’s. And within neighborhood markets, they’re surrently testing two assistants per store. It’s a f---ing joke. Like trying to squeeze blood out of a stone.

Our store has been scheduled to close 5685 the previous store manager select it only women to be demoted this was done last year also so it seems he is having a double standard against women in the store he was always a bully no way or the highway you would say

Looks like the company is promoting a lot of hourly associates, at one time it seemed like you needed to actually prove yourself before you would be promoted. Looks like their rushing to fill spots so current ASM can be replaced. Somethings about to happen.

assistant and dm DON'T get banded.....sh--ty ones flunk core and leveling and get demoted..... assistant in leveling and core now then store manager....same process..... replacement and talent comes from academy workers who have spent 1 year plus teaching and executing THE process and gladly, easily and correctly replace YOU! Then all future promotes and leadership will go through academy training continued to have a company of no deviant executers versus the long term lazy that promote friends through the years and don't know exactly their role and job.......fact is just because you worked 5-10-15-20 years with company doesn't mean you do what you were supposed to be doing..... just doing what someone taught you that was wrong because of their deficiencies! Blame yourself for not doing what was right or having the forsight to learn what was right way and being an individual and using YOUR brain to think of consequences for every decision you made or action you took!

This is being done in our store now. We were told it was a “test”. My position as department manager does not exist at this time. I am to be a Productivity Supervisor. If the “test” fails everything will go back to normal. If we keep this new system I was told I have to reapply for a job. It all seemed fishy to me from the beginning. I feel completely devastated by the lies I have been told!
