Thread regarding PepsiCo Inc. (Pepsi) layoffs

Week of Feb 12th

As I have heard it; (all hear say)

-Pepsi reported large layoffs to Hudson Valley Labor Dept in Dec. As

required by law. As to not flood unemployment offices and leave them

unprepared.

-HR has 2 Conf rooms booked in 1111 for that week.

-1129 will be primarily emptied. And many will be told to work from

home if not affected.

-There are high level managers in 1129 looking for new jobs since Dec.

-The HCL contract has not been renewed (not that that's Pepsi) But it

could effect those that are. As they are looking for a new IT contract company.

-And the 1111 Marketing department will be re-badged to another company.

Can anyone confirm?

Is it true, if your under 40, you only have a limited few days to review your severance package with an attorney? What are the possibilities of being re-hired at Pepsico or applying for an open position? If you sign the severance package, Are you banned from future employment?

The part about the HCL contract is bogus. The agreement is not up for renewal for several more years.

Be careful with WARNs - it's true that a 60 days notice is required but if they give you 8 weeks of severance they are covered under WARN (as those 8 weeks would count as 60 days notification)

Checked NY WARN at the department of labor website. I couldn't find anything for Pepsi or PepsiCo. Maybe looking in the wrong place.
