More layoffs coming next month, packages are getting prepared.
The big hit will be the Edmonton Tower

Sigh......
The last one out, please turn off the lights.
Is it happening Tuesday or Wednesday?
To add what I said below, after you are laid off and escorted out with only the clothes on your back, you can come back later (preferably after hours) for your personal effects under the direct supervision of an HR person.
Upper leaders only care about two things......
1) Shareholders, Stock Price, Dividends
2) Their own Salary, Bonus
They have seem to have forgotten who keeps these old pipelines running....
What is WRONG with This company? Why do they need to treat people, whose only “crime” was to contribute their very best to the company, like trash?
The leadership is clearly missing the big picture.
The most offensive part is that they treat you like a criminal. Like you’ve done something immoral and must be removed from the premises like vermin.
I'm afraid. This job is all I have. Are you sure this is happening?
I can confirm what the poster said about three below me. If you get laid off, you must go immediately and you may not touch your computer. You can take your jacket and that's about it. If you have a company phone, it is diconnected from the company network remotely as soon as you're getting walked out of the building. You won't be able to send an email.
Omg! I’m confused. Is it Tuesday or Wednesday? All locations?
I saw many people on my floor to do the same. A lot of packing on Friday. We are all ready for next week. It’s what it’s..sad!
Remember to clear personal stuff off your computer. Because if you are one of the "chosen ones" as I was a while back, you are not allowed back to your desk for ANYTHING.
I took my stuff home last week. I don't think I'll be affected but its better to be prepared for the next week and not have to worry about it.
Anyone taking stuff home today? Anyone? I feel I should. Not sure how many more rounds I will last. It's a gamble at this point.
"I'm a big believer that everything happens for a reason..." LOL!! Good luck with that. Oh...and "the universe will reward you" logic. You right-brained dominance thinkers are few in this company, but I can see must be a real hoot to have in the team meetings.
Next Tuesday is the big day. Layoffs in Canadian Projects, Major Projects, Supply Chain, Safety
Previous poster, what are you doing on your Thursday night? Hanging in whine-ville?
Wow, some honest and heartfelt posts, but essentially for the rest of them, what a bunch of whiners. The economy s---s. Or are you going to blame that on AM as well. It's so easy to hide behind the anonymity of this site and point "holier than thou" fingers. We'd all love for things to stay the same, but the nature of life is that things change. I'm a big believer that everything happens for a reason and perhaps all of you whiners might start spending less time on this page and more time creating a valued existence both personally and professionally. Trust me, the universe will reward your positivity in ways you can't even imagine... or you can stay stuck in "whine-ville". It truly is your choice...
Still learning WO in Houston. Is HR on the first floor?
bunch of rooms booked on 3rd floor HR floor next wednesday morning. Remember this happened the last time? Its like they dont learn
Anyone know if Infrastructure Planning and Lifecycle Effectiveness is safe? We are in Calgary head office.
So, Houston and Edmonton?
Next Tuesday is the big day!
Any news on what departments will get hit in the Westheimer office?
Any indication of which departments will be targeted ?
Big hit will be in the Houston office next week.
KR is Karen Radford
So many questions. Do the upcoming layoffs include the WO in Houston as well? It it the next round of boef or will departments previously hit hard need to worry again?
I was told I was valued, the company invested in me, always showed up to work, did well in my performance evaluations, and not long after, was laid off.
Nobody is indispensable. It can happen to anyone.

whos KR?
The only thing holding Enbridge together now is our collective memory of what a great company it was.
KR was the only senior leader who had the balls to stand up to Al. The rest are shriveling wimps.
Al may think he strengthened Enbridge through his high debt plans and layoffs, but now it’s rotting to the core.
There’s a big lesson for leaders in this sad story. You need employees to succeed. So don’t treat them like dirt.
I have grown very weary of waiting for the call to go home, I am on the Mid - Stream side and that’s the part that AM wants to get away from due to how it operates, all he wants is gas in and gas out without any risk so he can count his coins, well for me I am tired of the uncertainty and lies or no information at all as all they tell us is it’s a great company with great assets so if all is so great why are the selling the mid stream side.
I have freshened up my resume and am actively seeking employment elsewhere and hopefully will leave soon, it’s a real shame as I honestly like working here but I don’t need to come in everyday and here all the sadness and negativity, people are not happy and they are not telling us anything, a new job brings stress as you are basically starting over but starting over is better than waiting and being unhappy
Bring on the hammer! And the package!
Al's email did NOT say that layoffs are coming. It's trolls like you who are spreading fear and hate. Enbridge is a team and if we are going to be successful we need to weed out the negativity and focus on our mission and pull together to accomplish it.
Al’s email indirectly says more cuts coming.
I might pack my desk into a box as a joke but really then I’m ready when the hammer drops. Lol.
I’m sad to be saying this, but I actually hope I get packaged out. Everyone around me is miserable, and no longer wanting to make an effort to support and build the company in their own way. Work has become nothing but toxic and depressing, and it spans up and down the ranks.
Enbridge, please do this anonymous valued performer a favour and package me out so that I can apply my education, skills and ambition to a more deserving company with a brighter future.
@RkS7euv-2ljz you forgot the MIC DROP
You said it yourself, you were mediocre engineer. So how a mediocre engineer earnes life changing salaries and bonuses while real hardworking engineers with excellent track record of performance get no raises for three years and some got laid off.
Your post confirms that low performers, a-- kisser mediocre employees with mediocre jobs are kept and compensated for their a-- kissing skills.
Thats what AM likes to keep around.
Listen clown, AM is a brilliant business man and leader. Under his leadership I have seen not only Enbridge grow to be north America's premiere energy company, but also my own career take off to New heights. He is given me opportunity I could only dream of before, and with my hard work and commitment I was rewarded with life changing salary increases and bonuses. And before you cry foul, know that I earned those with my hard work and contributions and I was recognized for it because that's what a solid well run company does. It recognizes talent. If it wasn't for amazing Al, I'd probably be just a mediocre engineer plugging away in pipeline mediocrity for life. Don't talk bad about someone if you don't know the truth.
This will be the 4th round of layoffs in 3 years under AM's watch. 60 yrs of pipeline history and 150 yrs of gas distribution history - with zero layoffs before AM entered. That's pathetic. This is a simple utility company, not a cowboy E&P or a high tech company. AM may understand how to read a balance sheet, but he has no clue on how to evaluate business risk, or how to manage and 'inspire' people. I feel like I'm living in a Harvard business case-study nightmare on how another great company crashed and burned. A very sad time for all.
