Thread regarding Humana Inc. layoffs

I wish people would quit saying "don't worry about it since you can't do anything about it"

This is the most insulting thing I've heard anyone say, and people keep saying it over and over again. I'm a single mother who lives paycheck to paycheck, and you're telling me to just not worry?! I understand that i have no control over the situation, but how inconsiderate can you be to tell me not to be worried about the fact that my family is facing homelessness over this? Would you tell someone who just lost a loved one "well you can't stop someone from dying so no point in being sad about it"? Well would you?! No, you f***ing wouldn't, so quit telling me to stop worrying about my financial future for gods sake.

@RjzTNev-cmy On a side note, I agree with you. I have wondered this too, all the profits and raises and keeping the shareholders happy etc...while the good " peons" who are the voices, hearts, and faces the members actually deal with are the ones getting cut. Yea, how BB and all the others can sleep at night...I read somewhere a study was done on CEOs and their tendency towards being sociopaths. That must be how they can sleep at night. Good luck OP, just start making your plans to find something else.

BB is not accountable H employees, he is accountable to H shareholders only. And they, my friends, are doing just fine.

You are right, it is scaring looking to the future and the possibility of not having the income to provide for your family. Start putting into action, steps to help yourself, that you can control. What works for me is making a list of places to send a resume. Tell my family and friends of my concerns and ask for leads of other possible career opportunities. Making a list helps my head from spinning and helps me to feel more organized. It seems that the world has changed from companies who carried about their employees and made decisions surrounding those who worked hard. Today's world is about the top leaders giving themselves raises and bonuses and not caring about us peons. I have wondered how BB can sleep at night knowing the decisions he's been a part of and the company he's leading. Some day he will have to answer to those decisions at the pearly gates.

But spreading your fear and anxiety with people who are already stressed doesn’t do any good. We know what our situation is and we have to move forward. Best of luck to you
