Thread regarding Humana Inc. layoffs

Still keeping us guessing

So, let me see if I get this straight. After letting us wait for months, guess on when more layoffs we knew were coming would happen, make us stress out and even reach for anxiety medication, they make an afterthought announcement in which they still don't tell us who exactly is affected?

We need to wait even longer to know if we are impacted or not? Well, thank you Humana, it's not as if I need sleep to survive or anything. A--holes.

Looks like Jan. 31 is 60 days before the second quarter. We need to be gone before the second quarter so I guess Jan 30 will be the day they notify us.

As a PHC, I’m relieved to know. I’m fine. I feel for everyone who isn’t sure yet. It s—ks.

What I know about this board is that some people are never happy. Complain because you don’t know and then complain because now you do. Would you have liked for them to read everyone’s name off for you during the meeting. Pay attention they don’t know the full answer yet, but want you to prepare yourself.

It's small comfort, but you'll know in less than three weeks if you're impacted or not. They did the same thing to the PHCs and CHEs at the end of July with an announcement that many would be notified of layoff within the next 30 days...and they took that whole time before sending the confidential HR emails. Waiting for the axe to fall is h**l.

At least some of you have hope of employment, the entire PHC role is being eliminated..... and I think they made it very clear which roles will be impacted.

I knew it was coming, if you were paying attention, it was out there. Most people are waiting for severance.

I'm sure they are blowing smoke right now to get people to quit to save money on not having to pay out severance.

It is up to HR. They have to get everything set. It takes several weeks to get all paperwork done for such a massive layoff. I appreciate them telling us this time

But OP. You said yourself. You knew this was coming. What did you do about it? For crying out loud how much notice do you need? If it looks like a duck, swims like a duck, and quacks like a duck, then it probably is a duck.
