There is very little work now in copper or fios in NJ. No new fiber being placed as far as I know of. Maybe with the temps (30 month hires) getting in some training and the lack of work now, the company will decide that this is a good time to offer an eisp.

Northern NJ has more work than we can handle. Almost every day there is a force, and even still there are commitments missed and jobs rescheduled because of the lack of employees vs the demand. All this goes on a daily basis .
In n.y construction has been shut down for months,no sign of coming back anytime soon ,fios expansiom within the city,company doesnt care ,city took vz to court,looks like vz waiting for courts to play it out,that could yake years,by then 5g will be in place....so if your waiting for fios to be placed in your blocl,you will be waiting a long time

Copper is becoming obsolete.
Some northern NJ Fios garages are busy, tech's were forced in this past weekend and even had guys in on their dash days during the week. Copper is dead, they are patching it up where fios is not available yet.
At what cost? Employees draw a salary...the company pays to manage their pension...they get sick days, holidays, and vacation. If they have more employees than needed, it makes fiscal sense to get them off of the payroll. Most waiting for an eisp, can and will wait. It doesn’t cost the employee a dime to wait. Some are probably on the fence about retirement, and an eisp may persuade them to go. Remember...the company wanted the right to offer an eisp in the contract, the union didn’t...so it must be beneficial to the company to offer one.
The company doesn’t need to offer an EISP. They know full well that there will be a mass exodus before the expiration of the current contract. They are just waiting the Union members out.
