You know, I've been reading this website for a while now. Manly because it's funny. Listening to everyone b--ch and complain. Hate on corporate and all that. Now I'm not a big fan of closing buildings layoffs and people losing their job. But it's retail and retail changes. I know. Been with Sam's 17yrs. Seen alot of people come and go. Instead of b--ching and complaining. Why not try to be positive. Most of the people will be transferred or given a very decent severance if they are qualified. Stop blaming Doug or Furner or Gizel. It's part of business.
that’s a good question about union activity but i’m thinking these closings were decided at least a year maybe two ago. now maybe more clubs were added after the initial decision was made. it’s exactly how wm would respond to union chatter that gets too close
There was a post here on the layoff website (10 days) ago warning about layoffs in stores and HO - they specified an increase in security personnel booking for both stores and HO
Even before that got posted people were leaking info to us - we knew, but nobody believed
Think any of those clubs today had union activity???
Soo what's next??? Still think there will be in club layoffs and restructures??
Thank you to anyone at home office who has been on here sharing what they can. Totally understand that it's not necessarily you, the home office peep(s), who is responsible for this, but the board of directors and Doug "we want to be like Amazon now cuz CostCo knows how to run a warehouse business better than us" McMillan.
Please keep us in the loop for the next onslaught of changes next week. So many families being impacted by all this ... we deserve the time to prepare.
