Don't count on severence when your job is elimiated. The company has came up with so many excuses not to pay severence with the accounting office. Only associate with most tenure seen a severence everyone else had to move. I would not be surprised if severence is a thing of the past and I dont think they will even offer anymore.

Severance is pretty standard for eliminated positions, and this is consistent with the other 2 Fortune 500 companies I worked for. Walmart is no different. The amount of severance provided is based upon tenure and/or grade level, or some combination of both. Officer severance is also different given the nuances of their contractual agreements.
When the company changes something in a position they will offer a severance they have been doing this for years I got offer a severance years ago for a position that was eliminated.... I choose to stay with the company and find a different position .... but if I would have chosen to leave I would have gotten paid out it was not worth it to me ....associates need to quit feeling entitled for everything and either come to work with a good attitude after the changes or move on .... I know I am tired of bad apples honestly you all chose to stay now be happy u got a choice
Severance cannot be assumed. However where did you get this bs about the acct office. You have absolutely no idea what you are talking about. To set you straight, the acct TL position was the ONLY job eliminated so severance was paid. Made no difference about “tenure “ If you feel the need to know specifics go on the wire and research it, as far as the ACCT ASSOCIATE job title it was NOT eliminated so obviously no severance. the hours were cut back severely so if you see the former acct people working elsewhere then they transferred to another area to get the hours. All audit was eliminated so if they chose to leave severance was paid to each. Going forward neither myself or you know what will happen. Keep your so called knowledge to yourself as you are extremely unformed and generally just have no clue.
Accounting office leads did get a severance if they chose to leave the company quit lying .
This is a lie. It would be illegal for the company not to pay severance out. I've never seen or heard of the company of doing this. Stop trying to spread rumors
