Thread regarding Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) layoffs

HPE to HPI

If I am laid off from HPE, can I go and work for HPI? I know I cannot go back to HPE but there is an opportunity with HPI that I'd like to pursue. Any thoughts on this?

HP had a "blacklist" that is inherited by both the HPE descendant and the HPI descendant companies... They can violate their own policies at any time, and hire you back. And I have seen it done. But if you were laid off pre-split, either offshoot can continue to black-list you... While carping and moaning to Congress about how they MUST have more H-1B immigrant workers, 'cause they just can NOT find enough native-born workers! But I digress...

Post-split, if you find ANY evidence that the two supposedly-common companies are "sharing" a common, updated blacklist, holler to the high heavens! Bring ON those lawsuits or "whistle blowers", because this is anti-free-market collusion!!!

On a practical level, I have heard of quite a few ex-HPE people hired on at HPI... HPI has more "smarts" (and hence, more success) than HPE. Good Luck!!!

Yes. Plenty of people have done that. You also keep your service years if you do so. Good luck.
