Thread regarding Humana Inc. layoffs

A lot of us from Humana lost jobs in 2017, not just Humana at Home.

Many of us either had our jobs outsourced or were simply laid off due to changes in direction for the company. Why is it that your group is the only one who posts day in and day out about it? Complaining, whining and creating drama. The rest of us moved on with our dignity and respect still intact. While it is devastating to lose a job, the rest of us realize it happens and don't feel as though Humana owes us any thing. None of us were posting begging to please be released early and continue to get paid for doing zero work. Many of had to train our replacements before we could leave. Most of us had no prior warning but didn't complain. Those of us with prior warning did not whine that the company was sadisticly torturing us by making us still work. I don't understand the mentality possessed by many. Pick yourselves up, dust yourselves off and move on. You are giving those who remain in your division a really bad name. THough, by what I've read you just want everyone to go down with you then you can dance around saying "Told you so!"

A year ago I left Humana. It was the best job for a year and then it started falling apart fast. I feel for all those still at HAH. They took a great idea and ran into the ground stop complaining and find something else you will be much happier.

I’m willing to be most people visiting a layoff site fall into the “things aren’t great” category. Before the layoff rounds that started in our department in 2017, I never knew this site existed.

I don’t care what others post or whether they are down or up or any of that, just here for the info that is shared.

If things are great, why come on here for support?

If things aren’t great, why not let others detail why they think not, should that be their prerogative?

Live and let live. Post and let post.

Very little kindness and support on these posts. Post something optimistic or in support of the company then expect a flogging by a dozen or more posters. Post something bashing the company, well then, you get tons of support. So I guess it depends on what you consider support. 95% of the posts are filled with hatred anger and bitterness.

Agree with below poster - there is a wide range of posts. There seem to be more posts complaining about people complaining than there are complainers.

But I’m cool with all of it - like below poster said, if we don’t like the message, we can skip it and move on. No big deal.

OP disagree with you. There’s a huge variety of posts from HAH people ranging all over the place complaints and stress to kind support and good insight. It doesn’t bother me at all except when there is downright rudeness. But in those cases I figure it’s someone abusing anonymity and letting their mean self out. Whatever. No one is preventing other H depts from posting here. And if you or me or anyone doesn’t like a certain post then skip it. That’s easy !

I do tend to agree that it’s silly to get upset over what anyone posts. Then again, I’m not someone who argues on social media either. I have friends that spend way too much time arguing on FB, and some actually get stressed out about the back and forth nastiness. Life’s too short.

Well said below poster. Your attitude and lack of awareness perfectly illustrates OP's position. Nicely done.

Why are some folks so triggered by posts on here. Who cares if someone complains on an anonymous site? Or if they share their happy thoughts? Or if they claim to no longer work here? Post away, folks! Doesn’t hurt a soul (except for the easily “butt-hurt”).

Well said OP! To the complainers move on, get over it, it is the way the world works. It happens, so they said no more jobs would be lost, and now there are, get over it. They made a mistake. They hoped no more would be lost, but where wrong. The HAH nurses on this site are just complainers. There is probably a great reason why they are losing their job, and I think we all know why after reading this site.

Op, I agree with you, it’s hard to read the vile things that people are saying about coworkers and departments...I get the anger and confusion, stress and concern, but some of the comments are downright nasty, to coworkers. It’s sad that HAH has that brewing underlying problem with some people, I know they don’t represent all those impacted, and it’s sad to think whoever is on this site, or finds it, sees it...and poster who asked why somewas on the site...it’s the free and open internet....anyone can be on this site, not just those impacted or venting

@RUgmCHF-xlw That's an exaggeration. At one of the meetings one of the directors said there would be no more layoff's in 2017. He came back later and apologized and promised he would never make that assurance again. Not sure that equates to 'repeatedly lied too'. Many of the people posting here and even more who don't post here do not feel overworked and manage to meet their metrics and are hopeful that the role doesn't go away. HAH is really Drama Central.

Thank you poster. I can believe it is adults who are posting, sound like a bunch of kids crying.

OP! Why are you still here even reading what is being posted. Stop stirring the pot more and really move on with your life already. Let us all vent in peace. I feel sad for those that are taking it so hard but they cannot give the rest a bad name. Everyone grieve differently for their loss. Lost of a job is a major change to their lives and mine too.

Why be so judgmental? The people that work for HAH have been put through hell these past few years. We have been repeatedly lied to and over worked. With every round of layoffs came promises from management that there would be no more. I have many friends that work for other divisions of Humana and they have never been treated the way HAH employees have.
