The shyster insurance company that replaced Met Life and has a P.O Box as a Corporate address! Is well known in the industry as being the absolute worst company to deal with, that's if you can even reach them! I'm waiting for the horror stories to start appearing and believe me they will.

You use the term "abusers" , do you realize you also implicate doctors and Metlife as abusers. Doctors are the ones submitting documentation and filling the out forms and then Metlife approving the absence . I don't think Metlife would consider themselves abusers. These are guidelines that were set forth by Verizon.
By the way in this post the abuser seems to be Sedgwick. The legal systems appears to have that well documented
The whole switch is a calculated tactic to handle FMLA and STD abusers. Problem is that the abusers know how to game the system so the only people this really hurts are the ones out on legitimate medical and family issues. A better solution would have been to focus on the abusers and have them eventually terminated.
Metlife still manages LTD. Have to agree with some on here its a hatchet job.

I just had to file for short term disability and after submitting all paperwork it took about two days for my claim to be approved. I am still waiting for my first disability paycheck to make sure all of that goes through well. So far so good though..

Good luck getting your pay with these crooks and your doctors will not get paid either. They make everything an agonizing issue with lies and false excuses until either you give up or your doctor does. That seems to be their business model and I'm thinking they really don't care if you know it, because that's how blatant it is. Unreal actually.

Ha, just googled Sedgwick Claims Management Services , came back with thousands of issues. Why would Verizon deal with a company as bad as Sedgwick, it leaves them open to litigation.
