What’s the word on layoffs for GOM now that assets are being sold?

Sure is perplexing how they’re putting all the eggs in one basket.
Field folks will probably transfer with the assets. That might seem like good news to the field hands, that is until you remember that Fieldwood is in chapter 11. Even with debt restructuring and infusion of new cash they’re running on fumes. Job security there will be tenuous at best.
Options are even bleaker for Noble’s GOM office staff. It’s unlikely Fieldwood will offer them jobs or that many will take them if offered, given Fieldwoods financial condition. Highly likely most of the office staff will be out of a job. Support staff could be vulnerable too, one less group = less need for support.
For those in other groups don’t feel smug. You’re time is coming. Look at the pattern. They keep carving meat off the bone. MBU, GOM, who’s next? ABU? EMed? Thanks DS, you’re quite the leader. $70 billion here we come.
This is true. Noble really knows how to execute layoffs and workforce reductions. They can’t execute anything else... but they are really strong on layoffs.
If there are layoffs associated with the GOM assets being sold... don’t worry Noble is an expert in layoffs! It’s one of their strongest areas.
K no job for you enjoy unemployment
