Thread regarding Barnes & Noble Inc. layoffs

Just got my severance package

Inside they nicely included a list of all the receiving managers who got canned. No names, just ages and position. I counted the list.

903

And that's just receiving managers, I can only imagine what the other tallies are. -_-

Mine wasn't the severance paycheck, but legal forms that I have to get notarized and send back (both at my own expense) within 45 days to get my severance pay. Also, it was fun to find out "hey, your health insurance expires tomorrow" instead of at the end of the severance period as described by my former SM.

It will be paid weekly over 10 weeks (at least mine will be).

They probably only kept the ones at their 2 and 3 floor stoes...for now.

Ridiculously high. I wonder how the remaining Receiving manager’s feel knowing 555 of their peers were just tossed in the trash! 😞

Sorry I think I counted a page twice, was in the middle of a phone convo with someone at the time.

It's 555 actually. But still high nonetheless

How is that possible? I thought there were only 632 stores?
