Thread regarding Verizon Communications Inc. layoffs

Wireless / FIOS employee discounts

RIF'd 12/29/2017 but still getting employee discounts. I thought accounts would automatically become customer accounts but hasn't happened yet. Anyone know when the change will occur from previous RIF's?

It took just over a month for my wireless account to convert (to retiree). 25% on the data only was a big change from 50% off on everything

As an employee the ONLY reason I’m still with VZ is the discount, otherwise I would roll all 4 of my lines to TeMo. The 35% Vz accessory discount is a bit of a joke. Whenever you order accessories from Vz check Amazon first. So far they’ve beaten the Vz employee “discount” >80% of the time.

I am going to be honest. If they take away the employee discounts, I am going to switch to a different carrier. T-Mobile & At&T for wireless are cheaper than Verizon without the discounts. For wireline, I would switch to TWC or Spectrum or Comcast because they are cheaper and you are getting a better deal. Also, the service on their platforms is much more reliable now with all the layoffs happening at Verizon. I personally faced a 5 hour outage last night on my FIOS internet. The results are there. If I were them, I would leave the discounts there. In the end if they remove the discounts, they will be just lose another paying customer to pay their debts since competition is so furious in the telco industry.

I won’t go into details and I will be brief.....Took a little over a year to lose my discounts. Don’t know if a person reviewing accounts caught it or the “system” .

They probably laid off the people who were supposed to keep up on that.
