Thread regarding PepsiCo Inc. (Pepsi) layoffs

these people needed to go

not sure about other locations but the ones who were cut here needed to go a long time ago. i know a lot of people are upset, but in my opinion this was a good move.

how do you expect a company to survive without cutting its dead weight? some people needed to go so the rest of us could still have jobs ten years down the line.

might be sad to hear but it's true.

One of my co-workers who was laid off was talented and didn’t deserve this. Unlike the OP, I could not rationalize this as “taking one for the team”. Not a good move in my opinion.

Judging those who were laid off as dead weight is wrong. I saw a good hardworking co-worker get laid off today. OP is posting flame bait. Don’t feed the troll with incendiary comments.

ioj you are nothing but a useless slug you sound like a pansy millennial who has no family responsibilities and people depending on you as a bread winner. I hope you never have to feel the fear of loosing your livelihood and starting over at an older age. So sit in your soiled diaper and GFY.

As a person of faith I know we will be judged for our actions one day. How someone runs a business is not exempt from this judgement. At times tough business decisions need to be met, but the still need to be made ethically and with integrity. When this isnt done...they will have to answer for those decisions. Hope those making these unethical decisions enjoy rotting in hell for putting $$ over its people.

The folks who were let go in Plano HQ were very good and talented folks. Almost exclusively white males with 70 rule. So sad !

I0J you are the type of jerk that the company needs to cut. Many people cut were anything but deadweight

You are a loser

The layoffs have nothing to do with dead weight. Its purely a financial move from a company that is struggling due to failed leadership from the top. See how many of the cuts are at senior management level - probably very few as they are all in CYA mode.

Del is that you posting again in this forum? I went by your desk and happened to see you posting here and thought I'd drop in and see what your saying. Don't think the execs really know about this site, but you never know. Did you get your bonus? I got mine a couple wks ago and plan to spend it on a new bass boat or maybe a nice down payment on a caddy - those gold rims would sure look nice but don't drive it around downtown at night, lol

I don't know the people you're talking about, but I know of at least a couple of people that were let go that are top notch people, hard workers, intelligent, hard to see them go. Be careful about sweeping, careless statements like that. Remember, people's lives are affected.
