Thread regarding Sam's Club layoffs

Disaster

Don’t know about what’s happening in your clubs but ours is a disaster. They’ve made quite a mess of things, letting all these managers go without replacements. The morale is at a all time low and everyone is on edge. You can tell management is barely functioning and in a rut as well. What to do can we all pull out of this funk we are in. Lost some good managers and friendships. I don’t believe we will ever recover.

Just a heads up about the PTO. You only get your PTO paid out if you have been with the company for a year.

On no, not the permanent record! Guess what happens to the permanent record when the company goes under?

Two weeks notice is not required to get your PTO. The reason for termination is permanent record though. Make sure yours won't say "job abandonment" or "walked off job" by giving two weeks notice.

I was told technically you don't have to give a two weeks notice. A guy I know put in his two weeks, then asked ptc if he would only get paid out for PTO if he stayed his two weeks. He was told the PTO is his and he would get it. So I would wait until you are able to give notice, give the two weeks then ask your ptc the same question. If they say you get your PTO then bounce.

That's another question I have. Do you have to give them a two weeks notice.?

Totally agree people are panicking and some looking and leaving. Will probably see more go once we get our bonus March 8.

I'm beginning to think that's part of their plan also. All this chaos is shaking people up. Especially the people who have worked at Sam's long term. That's going to cause people to panic, get fed up with everything and put in their two weeks. Then say bye bye to having to pay more severance when they actually cut their positions.

This is why home office has made no decisions about us yet. They still in recovery mode from letting all these managers go. If not for loosing good people would be laughable seeing them scramble around.
