Thread regarding Enbridge Inc. layoffs

Harassment doesn't only happen in politics and the entertainment industry

So many women got let go this time around cause the company had to pay up to keep them quiet. NDAs are the only way to keep allegations away from the media.

And there were men in the audience today that did not notice this today...That's exactly what unconscious bias is! Just because you do not notice the s-xism and misogeny around you at Enbridge does NOT mean it is not there. This company is failing because it is promoting the same, "mini me" types that all think alike. No acceptance of diversity. No acceptance of diversity of thought. No innovation. No ability to adapt.

Well said. SO inappropriate. Classic demonstration of ‘what not to do’.

"Beauty and the beast" introduction for one of the most brilliant female leaders in the company?! In a presentation ABOUT respect and s-xual harassment nonetheless. Come on guys, we can do better. Very disappointing.

Dude! Get your head out of the sand! Just because you haven't seen men slapping admin staff on their asses, or swimsuit calendars pasted around the coffee area doesn't mean there is no s-xism at Enbridge!

Never in the last 20 years has s-xism been an issue?!? Can you bring in enough rosy-colored glasses for everyone?

Karen Redford was not eliminated for s-xist reasons. Don’t conflate the circumstances. Enbridge does not currently show evidence of such biases. I can’t speak for 60’s IPL but for the 20 years I’ve been here that has never been an issue.

You guys are so naive to think that s-xism and harassment do not happen at Enbridge. Or that people do not get set up by first being put into a sh--ty job... And then... Poof! "The Position" is eliminated! Anyone remember KR and RDO?

Wow Dude/dudette, your destroying whatever credibility is left (if there is any) on this forum. Your trolling and rumour spreading is not helping here

Don't think Enbridge would keep the offender and let the harassed person go if the person was assaulted, or if there were texts or emails.

But if it was a "he said/she said" thing and not so black and white - demeaning or s-xist comments or innuendo - it would not be surprising. Depends who the offender is and how many higher up friends they have.

Yeah... this post is just horseshit. There’s a lot of things you can say about Enbridge but s-xism is not an issue in 2017/2018. Exits are about position, not s-x.

Hey man - I'm as anti-Enbridge as anyone on here, but I'm not sure I understand your gripe. The value of filing suit because you were s-xually harassed and laid off far exceeds the value of the average package that Enbridge has been paying. I don't think even Enbridge is dumb enough to lay people off who have made s-xual harassment accusations.

Also - there was definitely someone in the Houston office let go in the last few weeks for harassment. But he was bottom-rung, so maybe that's the difference. Or maybe it was just cheaper than giving him a package.
