This past week I was contacted several times both via LinkedIn (and through voice calls) by an insisting HPE recruiter telling me that I was the "perfect fit" for a role she was "sourcing" with urgency. Of course I was the "perfect fit"... I was laid off two years ago from that same position/location/organization after having the same job for four years...
I very politely told her that I was laid off from that same position (different hiring manager - as my then-boss was eventually kicked out as well), and needless to say how embarrassed she was. Then - without me saying a single word - she started complaining about how hard her job has become, as all the hiring managers are looking for unrealistic expectations in terms of talent vs. what they are willing to pay and that most of them now want to hire only US located candidates with no (or lame) relocation packages and starting salaries.
Two years later I can only feel pity about the people that is still there (or the ones even considering joining the company). I just wonder for how long this HPE-existence agony will continue.
