Thread regarding PepsiCo Inc. (Pepsi) layoffs

severance?

heard somebody mention that pepsico is slashing severances as part of minimizing layoffs costs. i simply can't believe they'd do something like that to people who are already losing their livelihood. can this be true? what was the severance package in the last round of layoffs?

Sounds like someone here is probably still “s---ing at the teet” of his parents. Go back to your room, little Johnny. Leave the adult conversation to the grownups.

I don't understand capitalism or how corporations work. I want to be s---ing the teet of my corporate overlords until death while I sell high blood pressure sugar cans.

My understanding is 2017 bonuses are still good. Don’t expect a good one though. They knew who they were going to lay off before PDR calibration.

What happens to 2017 bonuses normally paid out in late February of the following year? That can’t be withheld can it?

As humiliating as a demotion would be, temporarily accepting it is smart. Let PepsiCo keep paying you while you find a new job and go out on your own terms. Don’t let your pride allow them to fire you without severance. Quitting is what they want you to do. Don’t give them the satisfaction.

Plano FLNA HQ definitely not going away of thats the question on the table. Currently in the middle of being totally overhauled, with people being squeezed into itty bitty little open cubicles. Including ALL banded folks. Sitting. In. Cubicles.

Demotions? What an insult. Lol, if someone accepts a demotion and lower pay they might as leave cause they have no dignity left.

Prior layoffs were two to three weeks of pay per year.

One rumor I’ve heard is that demotions and pay reductions are going to be offered. Refusal means voluntary resignation. So prepare yourself for that one.

The other rumor is whole departments will be axed as non-essential.

Chicago is going to get the ax, that's kind of a commonly known secret, I think the lease is up on the building space this year or next,

Close Plano? Yeah, right. Like NY could manage the snacks business.

More likely to be Barrington and the Chicago Plaza.

Just wait until you see the “relocation” packages for the two facilities that will be shut down and consolidated in the coming months. That’s if you want to take the deal...

Heard retire-eligible employees won't receive any package

I've heard the opposite. The severance package will be better than in 2012. And is being funded by the recent corporate tax break. I would not loose any sleep over this.

I heard one week per year of service.

In 2012 it was 2 weeks per year of service. Got to retire with full benefits if you were 50.

It wouldn’t surprise me, reduced severance is the latest corporate trend, IBM layoffs people with 30 years and gives them 1 month pay...see ya...Pepsico doesn’t care about you or me ...we are just costs to be managed
