Yep. Inventories so far have been across the board terrible. Won’t take long before something changes. Would not be surprised if they did twice a year inventories.
If it’s cheaper than an audit team to bring in an outside company twice a year might be possible. Doubtful that it is though.
A lot of Sam's are having horrible inventories, it is a matter of time before things must change.
You go blind into inventories then come out even worse. Dollar differences are not being worked
therefore all descrepencies just carry over and everyone is going crazy looking for merchandise that is not there. No Bueno.....
Kind of hard to do some of these audits when you have to close all the time so managers can sit in the office while you run the show.

Home office is a joke.
You could always not do the audit, or just put the OH’s the system says you have. Sure you may be fired for it due to an “integrity issue” but it may be good in the long run. The pay is not worth the sh-- you do as a lead, especially since most leads do and know more than most managers.
I'm the consumables lead at my club and yes all the audits are being put on the Tls since they got rid of audit. Honestly my club is a sh show. Night crew never scans pallets out of steel so there's tons of ghost pallets. Floor counts are always negative. It's lots of fun to do these when I have no floor partners because no one wants to stay at sams these days. So my day consists of trying to get the audits done and trying to zone the majority of the floor by myself while magament chills in the office and b** over the radio at me. The system in place is screwed good luck to me on a complete hba audit lmao. And management at my club won't let me have non lead associates help.
Our leads pencil whip it there’s no way we can do it all. Hell for 10 years they had 3 full time doing audits now they think 1 lead 40 hours can do all audits. Managers are doing the same when they sign off on them.
Good luck getting some of the complete audits done this month. What a joke! HBA and OTC after this long of no audits. Gonna be rough. Category 61. Ouch. Batteries s---.
TLs in our club had to do audits. My favorite was they sprung a complete freezer and cooler audit on me the end of the week before it was due. I was told by managers to “figure it out since it had to be done” I responded with “Then pay me more and give me the power to write schedules. Otherwise get the f*** out of my way. Really what do I need you for then?” My manager was there to help with the freezer portion of my audit.
As for my normal audits they weren’t usually too bad since my club was one of the better ones for CIM, especially in reserve steel, and my areas were excellent for floor locations too. When I was off on items if I couldn’t find it around where it was on the floor, or back in claims, and if it didn’t have a location in steel I wrote it off. My thoughts were if corporate doesn’t care about shrink why should I? After all, I had like 100 others things they expected to get done that day. I can’t inagine how clubs with crappy CIM do audits.
As long as they can weed out some long term associates making higher pay they will probably see the negative impact of eliminating positions. It’s all about cutting payroll and replacing with lower salaried.
Yes it’s crazy how they have the leads running around like chickens no heads, all while they perched in office.
I think they will bring audit positions back very quitely, then after other positions eliminated as well. They will un-do then re-do everything back to how it was, just watch and see......
If managers would get off their asses and work with us would be different. Crazy how they all set in the office now more than ever. I guess cause they think their safe now, but don’t blame them how they made them sweat. I guess I would slack now more than ever as well.
HO seems to keep slapping in more full audits as the months pass. Team leads have no clue or time to finish these with the accuracy audit could put towards it. It’s simply busy work they just want to get through as fast as possible.
Last poster was right. The audit team was a mistake to cut and now it’s too late to fix it.
At my club team leads never complete audits, they want to just count floor and let someone else look for merchandise they can't find in steel. Remember CIM is a joke, no one can find merchandise if it is not in location. Yes, I miss my audit team. This year will be the first full year without our audit team, imagine what inventory numbers will look like. I bet they will bring audit back in some form or another, however they will call it something else like some sort of "specialist".
Team leads are inchatge pd audits. Who does then is up to leads and management. Which means at your club it's your complaining a--. I'm not sure how negative people who don't want to work still have jobs.

TL’s are.. and they delegate down if possible on some smaller audits. But really it’s all up to the TL’s. On top of all their other duties, tasks, daily last minute given projects... being a TL is a joke and not worth the $1.10 or 10% raise or what ever it is now
Grocery, Center, Electronics and Tire leads do all of our audits in their areas
In our club the team leads do all the audits.
Management will do them.
