Thread regarding Sam's Club layoffs

So Much Info on here is way off

First of all there’s been so much speculation over the past month about all these hourly changes. Not one hourly change was mentioned during last weeks meetings with the market managers. Secondly the Assistant managers and Club manages that were displaced happen because of several factors. One factor which no one is talking about, all managers had to take a survey last September or October. The survey asked 25 to 30 questions and based on how you answered those questions played a huge role in what happened last week over 60%. Another factor is your clubs financials. If you’re Club is not meeting or exceeding in all three metrics also played a factor in some of the club management decisions that were made. Managers were also reviewed based on how many promotions they have helped create over the past several years in their career. A manager who does not help people get promoted was not seen as valuable to the company. All I can tell you is that there were so many factors based on the decisions made. performance of individual managers was a small part of it but there were several other factors included in the decision-making process.

I’m sure the company will announce more changes or realignments with in the club over the next several months. But nobody seen what was coming last week, there are people claiming they seen it, but they did not see it the way that it happened. Go back and read all the post prior to last Monday and tell me who got this right. Walmart is constantly making changes and some of the rumors that are on here are based on Walmarts alignment. I’m not saying what positions will be here over the next few months to with in the next few years but the company will make the adjustments based on the future. If you’re in an area and you think it’s going away find a new home. Club pick up is definitely going to be here for the next several years member Facing positions will remain as well. So if you’re nervous about your job then do something about it. Quit speculating and guessing what positions going away. Receiving May realign but somebody has to bring the freight into the building. Somebody has to stock the freight If you’re a receiving clerk and you can’t drive a forklift and have no other value if your position goes away you have no one else to blame but yourself. Each building receives 2 to 6 trucks per night and that will never change. Make yourself valuable and quit wondering what’s going to happen and quit worrying about it and your life will become much better.

People wouldn’t be stressing out if leadership would just be upfront and honest when changes are happening but they like to leave everyone in the dark and that makes people uneasy. They make changes much harder and more stressful than they need to be. We are all adults and can handle knowing when things are going to happen so just be upfront and honest about it. Whatever the plans are put them out there. That way if you know what is coming you can formulate a game plan. The stress of not knowing is worse than actually knowing what’s coming because you are stuck and have no idea what to do. If you know what’s to come it makes the transition easier for everyone. They need to be better communicators and most people would stick around to the end if they knew it was coming just to get their severance package. So there is no excuse for keeping everyone in the dark all the time. The corporate office are the ones getting everyone riled up by keeping people in the dark.
