Thread regarding Humana Inc. layoffs

Lack of response from Coach 22 and Coach đź’Ż almost makes me more nervous about the upcoming January layoff

Why do you think they are quiet this time when they have been so vocal in the past?

Humana is going to be acquired

You do realize that WARN is simply the 60 day notice given to each employee laid off, right? During the last 4 rounds each associate was given 6 0 days. Some were just"released" early but we're still employees till the end of the 60 days. Humana has set this as precedence and will continue to offer the 60 day notice. HAH is not completely shutting down. If so then they went to great lengths to set up a new executive leadership team to lead us for only a few months? Makes zero sense!

The layoffs in 2017 all came with a 60 day notice - not 60 days prior to the confidential emails and notifications but 60 days prior to the associate term date.

First, WARN might not go out if it’s not a “massive” layoff, the layoffs in 2017 were done without it, except for the last one. There are regular town hall meetings, you’re not going to know until you get the dreaded email, second....we know HAH is “going away” meaning restructured, that’s been happening the past few months with the member movement. Thirdly, most of the layoffs we got the heads up about on this site from 22 and 💯....22 said early February....we don’t know anything, we can assume the worst, but the best we can do is to keep doing our jobs the best we can.

POster....chill a bit...MF was moved since he didn’t align with the three pillars they kept talking about in 2017. WF has the background needed related to one of the pillars, they’ve moved behavioral health under HAH , another one of the pillars.....I don’t see what you’re seeing, poster, I see a move towards what they said they were doing. Which of us goes along for the ride is anyone’s guess...I would think they would bring the numbers of CMs and hcmss back to what it was when it first started, and I don’t know why everyone is assuming Jan 18 is layoff date because the town meeting is then, they have them quarterly. Maybe nothing is happening yet, and the town meeting will let us know more.

The CM, PHC and hcmss were never part of the benefit grid, or benefits, because it’s not available to everyone. The kindred part is supposed to happen in 3-5 years. I highly doubt hah is shutting down, restructured and taken to bare bones, yes...how many that is, is the guess

Are they keeping anyone? To complete this phase? Or is this the end of the end?

Yes, HAH is shutting down. The remainder of the PHC's, CHE's and HCM RN and SS's remained to support the last part of the strategic plan to close down the division. 2018 plan benefits did not include telephonic care coaching and MF was moved to another part of the company because the telephonic division of HAH is folding. It was no longer being lucrative and the strategic plan has changed courses. Kindred Home Health is part of that plan. Again, be smart and proactive. Dust off your resume and start looking for a new job.

Let’s stick to layoff info and leave out our feelings about the company - positive or negative- if possible, it’s not helpful and our feelings don’t change the facts.

Your experience with this company has been very different from mine.

I will stay with Humana as long as they will have me. This company has wonderful benefits and unheard of perks (personal holidays, volunteer time, hello!) and Humana has been very good to me. I’ve had great coaches, teams, and an amazing COM and I truly believe I am helping my assigned members. This is a business and the leaders have the responsibility to make decisions that will move the company forward. We may not agree with the decisions or understand them but we can make the decision to sink or float. There is uncertainty when you work for any company; stressful but predictable. As for me, I’ll be grateful for the job I have, even if it’s coming to an end (I sure hope it’s not!). You can make the choice to go through every day worried and bitter or you can focus on your work and carry on. It might be me or it might be you. Remember it’s positions being eliminated by the RIF, not people. Keep on keeping on y’all!

Any phc’s get a whiff of this from their coaches today?

I hope it's not until early February. Someone else just posted on the thread "When is the January D-day" with the following comment:

"January 18th many rn’s And most PHC will unfortunately be let go. I would start planning for future as some of these could be immediately terminated."

I know that’s right some of us want to ride it out as long as we can. The jobs in my area don’t pay as well as Humana, therefore I’m going to stay as long as I can.

I hope hah isn’t shutting down. The person that posted that is very mean if they are being untruthful. I wouldn’t say such a thing in effort to get people roused up.

I would think if coaches were told they are shutting down the program, they would freely state that in here. They have nothing to lose at this point!

Coaches have been told HaH is closing down so it will be all PHC’s, Coaches, etc. no one is safe this time. Sorry

In my opinion I feel like this program is ending as well. We are slow being phased out while they figure out their plan to survive with this particular program. But I don’t think company as a whole will fold just hah.

CHEs are not safe! If they reduce the roles CHEs support, then less need for CHEs. Think about it. My guess is CHEs will go down to one team this time.

Thanks Coach 22. Wishing you the best! I’m sure the layoffs will be across the board in all states . We have moved so many members into monitored status and we are not enrolling new members the writing is on the wall and has been . HCM RN here. Not sure about PHC’s but this program looks like it’s ending
