The closer you get to 60 and over, your opportunities become less and less. 50-59, definitely not good to lose a job during those years. Sorry. Look at the statistics. They are not encouraging. It’s a bit depressing when you also factor in the healthcare situation and the fact you will need to do something to bridge the gap beteeen your current age and 65 (Medicare). Hard to do if you lose your income and can’t fairly quickly replace it.

Flip side! You don’t what can happen until you try!

Great advice. Unless you’re in the over 59 group. I would add to this, if you are under 50- get out and start over with a good company while you still have time to build a great career. Because if you wait too long, you will regret it. I know I do.

Fine if you live in a large metro area. Many of us in the smaller cities cannot relocate due to various legitimate reasons.
