I have been interviewing with many tech companies since being laid off. Reality check. The industry does not consider Oracle a serious cloud competitor. Very sad. Competitors are not feeling the threaten at all.
I find it odd that AWS would even bother ridiculing LE. Ridicule is usually reserved for someone who is considered a threat, and I don't see how AWS considers Oracle to be a threat.
In his desperation to earn some short term revenue, LE is killing the golden goose - DB - which is the only competitive product oracle has, as long as it charges a reasonable price. Well, so much for oracle surviving as a BD company, not even that is going to happen
Good article. Is there any other software vendor who changes twice as much for license to run on AWS? It seems like it should be illegal. It's difficult to image how Oracle customers tolerate so much.
Amazon is scary competitor in so many ways. Maybe LE has bitten off more than he can chew this time.
