Thread regarding Follett layoffs

Leadership - Team Engagement

How about we stop looking at employees as mere tools of productivity and start treating people well, listening to them and giving them room to grow.

And don’t do it just to squeeze more productivity out of them—they're smart enough to see that coming—but because it's the right thing to do. And if your heart is in the right place, they'll see that too.

Too many selfish moves have been made and now the company is suffering from these actions.

I personally need to start seeing the executives of this company start making the same sacrifices that the rest of us are being asked to make.

I truly believe these sacrifices are the only hope for getting and maintaining fully engaged employees.

It's truly sad how negative our work environment has become. The situation is reaching toxic proportions. The majority hate coming into work - Are being supervised by people who don't really care about them - And are being directed by senior leaders who are often clueless about where to take the company. So what comes first the chicken or the egg? In business, it is the senior leaders who are to cultivate the culture of a company. One Company - if so - then prove it by reducing the number of VPs and add the payroll back to customer facing priorities.
