Thread regarding Verizon Communications Inc. layoffs

Professionalism

Do you have any idea how bad it looks for the company and the rep that in the middle of the transaction the manager comes up (in front of the customer) and asks what are they buying? How much accessories are they buying? Did you tell them about the hum? Did you tell them about our next open enrollment 5 months from now? Did you tell them about our tablet deals? What about the new Apple watch? Do they own a business? Oh they don't? Do they know anyone who does? Did you get that persons info? Did you already make an appointment? Let's make our customers def want to shop here again. Make them feel like a number

SM’S are worthless in my book. They are overpaid greeters.

What’s worse is in my area they take pictures with their customers showing off what’s being bought. Or posing with hum boxes while customers are looking. Yeah, that’s what we should do, make people feel like numbers and trophies! Not actually fixing their issue or finding value, just cram sh-- down their throats!

My manager will ask... did they get tmp on it ? right in front of the customer. The customer is like why do you need to know if I got insurance on my phone. It's not yours. Let the rep do his job

This company is the Titanic and it's about to hit the icebergs. You are worried about an $11 feature. How about we figure out getting new lines in store? Duh

The ship will sink before these idiots realize micro managing is NOT the way to run a business.

Tell your Manager to get his resume in order, after that tell him to greet at the front door for an 8 hour shift don't communicate with the customers walking in just keep telling the customers "Tech Support" will be with you shortly." On an hand off to a solutions specialist if the customers start getting loud run in the back and hide, just tell him to calm down relax! That's what they do at our location.

This type of behavior is not just at the store level. It is at the call centers too. Managers know their days are numbered as well. They believe if they push harder somehow they will get to keep their jobs. They won’t. They will be laid off just like the rest of us. The wireless side is pushing for less corporate stores and more authorized retail stores. Less corporate call centers and more vendor centers. It is just the way the corporate world works.
