I was wondering if anybody here who was placed on PIP managed to survive? I've just been put on PIP (for bogus reasons) and from what I have read on this board, this means I'm as good as fired already. Has ANYBODY actually managed to go through PIP and still have their job afterwards?

Assign you things you hate? What? PIP's are not "bogus" either by the way. There are criteria that must be met to open one and there must be proof. Anyone that says they were put on a PIP for bogus reasons is trying to save face.
So did you survive PIP, can you share your experience.
Humana is a good company to work for, but as a former employee, I can relate your situations. There are few managers which are boss and not leaders. Here are few things you must look for to identify whether you work under boss or leader? Is your manager trying to find ways to humiliate you against other employee. Is your manager trying to assign you things you hate. Is your manager dislikes you. All this matters and results into some bogus reasons for PIP. Humana must do something to stop this behavior of bosses.
Agree. As a former leader, PIPs are ways to make you quit before having to pay you severance in a layoff situation. You are told it should be seen as a positive thing, but it has underlying goals. How you respond to the PIP says a lot. Do you get mad and use the IM chat to vent to coworkers, do you embrace it with a positive attitude? Your responses to PIPs and informal coaching sessions are noted and you will have a target on your back. Also, try not to get a PIP once you do get your official lay off notice. Whatever you do, HR is not on the side of the employee. They are designed to protect the employer. Why do you think so many ineffective leaders are still there and great ones are gone? Play the game and don't complain, once you do (if you go to HR), that is pretty much the beginning of the end. Leaders don't want you around if you make waves. If we have seen anything over the last year, we are all replaceable and at any given moment.
Look for another job. PIP means that if you screw up any of the conditions discussed with coach, HR will be in the next meeting and you will be fired.
No dont feel that way that you will be fired. I can say associates arent put on PIP without 2 formal coaching conversations first to improve performance. So I would suggest adhering to the PIP. Humana does strive to coach-in and not to coach-out. If you feel that it is that "bogus" reason to be on a PIP you can reach out to Share solutions with HR4U and file a complaint against your coach. I hope that helps. Good luck
Lots of people still have their job after a PIP, as long as you meet the requirements of the PIP.
