Thread regarding Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) layoffs

It must be real. Hearing from more Aruba folks about no bonus/raise this year. They too have got the big shaft apparently and no happy Christmas for them either. So I suppose nearly all hpe employees will have a downer holiday season this year except the management (and their chosen few back scratchers) who have kept all the money to themselves.

I just had my FPR with "Accelerating" rating (the top group). I'm not with Aruba so as expected I did not get any bonus. They gave me a measly pay raise (cant disclose exact percentage in case HR tracks me from this site). They also gave me small amount of stock options shares which is nothing compared to the tens or hundred of thousands Megtonio and the VP's get every quarter.

It's not fair that top rank employees work their arse off all year had to wait till FPR to get a very small amount of options while those at the top get a bunch quarterly whether the earnings s---ed or not. I'm not happy at all. Not because of the small amount but I dont feel deserving of these chump change with all the layoffs that happened and will happen next month.

The people in this forum may have got the story wrong about Aruba employees getting a bonus. Apparently it was a fake promise made by their management. Talk about the Grinch that stole the Christmas. The latest word is that large majority of those guys are getting absolutely no bonus and zero raises. That means just a hand picked chosen few get some chicken feed thrown at them while the rest are getting hung out to dry.

my team exceeded all their targets and demonstrated great professionalism through fy17 and I had to tell them no bonus, Meg and Antonio this is how you create people who don’t care to go extra mile. Joke goes through team that bonus money went to Meg’s golden parachute, who knows that might even be true

My wife was one of the recent WFRs from HPE. She was devastated after many, many, many, years with the company. It's a slap in the face that she was screwed over for years in her pay and even when they saw the mistake never corrected it. They said they couldn't give her the amount she should have been making and acted like the 10% of her pay that was lost was no big deal. She worked long hours and was dedicated totally to her job only to find out that not only would she receive no holiday bonus, but hey Merry Christmas you now have no job. Meg Whitman is a heartless, soulless, human being who doesn't give a rats a-- about anyone but herself. She only cares about lining her own pockets with her millions in bonuses. She will get her bonus again this year at the holidays because she laid off 5000 good people to get it. Well Meg I hope you f---ing choke on it.

It is horrible how HPE can clearly see that cost of living never goes down and raises are unheard of for over 6 years. How is it possible that they can think employees can keep their morale up in this horrible environment (its toxic). It truly is horrible that employees are made to think that they are lucky to have a job in a horrible work environment especially the employees with over 30 years with Digital, Compaq and HP. Boy has the corporate work world changed. So sad!!!!!

They can’t keep dangling the carrot every year, then offer some lame excuse about not giving bonuses. Morale cannot be lower, employees will not be motivated to work nights, weekends, holidays, etc., for nothing in return (as happens now). The place is a dump - employees treated like slaves, receive no training, certainly no “inventing” going on at HPE. You can take your “PointNext” and shove it. After 21 years with HP, then HPE I’ve had it! Would rather sell nails at Home Depot.

Meg’s laughing during the employee call was unprofessional for someone at her level. Morale is bad, everyone is stressed and concerned about their job- and she’s laughing. Maybe if they gave every employee a token amount like $500 and acknowledged how difficult it has been would have helped instead of their usual bs.

Her constant giggling throughout the conversation and Q&A seemed extremely insensitive considering the topics (I checked the time zone for Madrid, and the call started at 6pm their time - maybe she attended happy hour before the meeting?!?!)

VPs out of touch. They do not give a crap about people. VP told us months ago bonuses will not be near to last year. Last year BU met and exceeded goals, no bonus. Same for this year, no bonus. But, did you really think that no one would find out about the retention bonuses given out? Shame on you. That was a giant F U to what remaining loyal employees you had left that wanted to be a part of HPE. SHAME ON YOU.

It's great that Meg & Antonio find it so funny telling the workforce that there are no bonuses.

Antonio just confirmed in the All Employee Meeting - no FY17 bonus - we fell short of our goal. But FY18 they are looking at half-year bonus payouts vs full year,

Just heard from my manager that there are no bonuses coming. I though it was B.S, but seems not

But there are no more top performers. Most of them left for better opportunities. (except Meg, of course; she was a poor performer)

There will always be bonuses to the top performers.

FWIW, the old profit sharing scheme died long before Hurd was CEO, though he made it even worse.

The company just laid off thousands and you are worried about getting a bonus??? What a dirtbag...

Microfocus still follows the old tradition of equivalent percentage bonuses to everyone. They may not be great bonuses, but it's fair and equitable compared to what Hurd did (unfair bonuses, make coworkers see each other, especially during ranking and layoffs, etc).

Those of you that has been around long enough might remember we all used to get the same exact percentage of bonus across the company. Then that ba$$%^&d greedy HERD came along and changed it to a most unfair bonus distribution system you can imagine. The pot of bonus money is now apportioned by your position in the company, and then by the ranking - a 2 factor formula. People at higher positions got a higher percentage and people in lower positions got a lower percentage. Then even within a level, if you are rated higher you are given a bigger chunk of the pot allocated to that level. This was how that fricking Herd schemed to bag most of the bonus money for himself and his cronies.

In my opinion, the last time there was any fairness still left in the company was when Lew Platt was around. After that it has been a continuous slide into hell. I do not think emperor Nero is going to be any better that his recent predecessor. After all he has been drinking the coolaid served up by the departing CEO. Time will tell

Unfortunately Meg killed HPE and now all that remains is Aruba. It is said, but now HPE is an Aruba company. I used to be a “top performer” and I already left HPE to a better place. Do while you can, start searching for a new job now.
