Vdsi ppl need to realise and act upon. Don't spoil your personal life for company and project. You need to be selfish in learning/ personal growth and personal time spending. Too many opportunities there outside other than technical work also in it to contribute. Awake and arise
It was like a play for everyone to see , in the middle of the floor, treated like terrorists. finally a note from top management that they treated them with dignity. what is the meaning of word dignity? we could see the humiliation they were facing. there are two reasons for the exercise. 1.talent refresh - good motive, but should be executed with dignity and respect. whatever you did during chennai floods rescue and with SPICE in orphanages is all show off. need to wait and see if any quality resources will join vdsi in future. the minimum anyone expect is respect. 2.scare the people on the floor - this is met.
Compensation=(No.of years in Verizon* 1 month salary )+ 2months notice period payout.
Why the hell they pay 10-12 lachs to each resource as instead they can retain the employees.
Heard that they are compensating with 14 months salary+ 6 months insurance

Today's IT Career ;; you spend 25to 27 yrs of study to make a career and then work max for 12 to 15 yrs , then go: I have seen managers from reputed companies after 2+ yrs of Jobless opening up Grocery stores. How can a companies hire brainlessly and fire brainlessly just to make there share jump by few dollars. It should have social responsibilities in hiring judiciously and firing judiciously. Humans are not Buffallo , that if you milk reduces ; send them to slaughter house.
What is the layoff compensation? Heared it as 9 lakhs to 10 lakhs. Is it true?
Such a bad tremor in Verizon which no one witnessed before. Wish they could have handled better as it's hard to digest colleagues being washed off by sleeper cells guards in no time where respect and loyalty towards employee were put on sedation. How do they believe that we should consider this as a rational move by company to meet their trending business transformation when hundreds of families expelled in a day. 2017 was the worst year where every team had spent day and night including weekends and compromised their personal life to meet company's crazy targets. Now it's all a question why we had shed all these times for Verizon. I wish everyone who left Vdsi have a better future than this and I believe they would. No more a better place to work.
Being a large company,its technology requirements might be changing and it is undergoing transition to stay in the competition which might save its business.
But in this quest it has put the future of hundreds of families at stake.It is very traumatising mentally to suddenly accept that you are fired and need to leave immediately when you had zero clue and come to office as usual.
Atleast instead of giving 2 months notice period salary and asking people to leave all of a sudden it would have given 2 months or worst case 2 weeks notice or atleast 2 days and treated its employees who have been working for it day in and day out for several years with dignity.Everybody has responsibilities to fulfill.Give them atleast some time to prepare and plan their future on whose several others depends.
While surrendering our jobs to the automated and smart machines filled world let us show some empathy to fellow human beings.
We have loans to clear.We have to pay the fees of our children and provide them a secure future.We have aged parents whose medical bills we have to pay and take care of their recurring health issues.We have husbands who lost their jobs in recent recession.We are the only working person in our family.Each one of us have responsibilities to fulfill.
This was not expected from a company which we felt so proud to be part of once upon a time for all the good facilities it has given.
Please do not do this to us.

I don't blame vdsi.. all i blame is the new management.. vdsi now ran by a group where they will grow their close network only.. and fire anyone. Worst thing is they thrown loyal employees by stabbing thru leg who worked day and night, weekend by sacrificing personal life..
People's are used for day to day work only nothing as per their aspirations because of this we loose our skills and handicapped

They terminated 937 out of 6000 ppls. they removed people from all level. but more target was towards 12+ exp in verizon. It a wake up call already with verizon for 8 to 10 years.

Many people got termination call today and all final formalities finished just like that. Worst management decision. Surely in near future VDSI management ( whoever thought this layoff will achieve some goals) will fail and realize that you made biggest mistake which may even shutdown VDSI..... Supervisors and management.... first you people need to be layoff... since you don't know anything...Learn to treat employees with respect then come back to this position.

People should stop accepting offer letter from these companies .They are playing with future of their own employees. Managers doesn,t know who is going to be fired the list is maintained till SPM.
That was true. Many loyal employees who were technically sound were treated like **** and expelled by guards. I felt that they were backstabbed.

It is true that Verizon sacked employees. Compensation package is no of years plus 2 months. It is embarrassing to get out of office when hundreds of employees watching you. It should have been in a different way 12/12 is like blackday for Verizon India

Verizon India started the layoffs. 937 out of existing 6000 are getting laid off by Dec 15-2017 and expecting 50% layoff - approx 3500 by Feb 2018. It's true and I am an employe here and still working. Those who says fingers crossed they are simply buttering/oiling their SPM's. Request those who are still working, please find time for them self rather then involved in such a f---ng work and leave before next year February, before things went more worst.
It's really shocking to see so many people going out of VDSI in a single day.
But something better is waiting for them. They all are champions.

Hi all , layoff in Verizon data services India Pvt Ltd is correct , but the count is not correct , till today no one was very sure about the count . Regarding the 50% layoff in the 2018 probably it may be worng propaganda which is been romming accross the internet , please don't believe in such new.
Coming to layoff which is becoming usually in all the company's and I personally fell verizon has given good financial support along with other benefits for all the employees.
I personally feell Verizon is good place for your career to full fill your objectives .

The process is like this your senior manager will call for meeting,he will take you to 8 the floor where third party ppl will be having the list of employees names and resignation letter ready ,he will say all blabla..blaba.. u r not upgrad with tech. and all those ,later they will ask u sign on the resignation letter, after that they won't allow you to take your belongings in your desk. the securit will stand behind you as u r taking company valuables,this is tooooooooo worest. Best part is they are arranging cabs to drop home and giving salary based on employees experience.
I see a Large no.of Layoffs today at Verizon. I never ever expected Verizon would take such step in a merciless way. Most of the fired employees are deserving candidates who has abundant knowledge in their head. I say it's a Good thing for them because our skill set degrades after working with Verizon's projects and one finds it difficult to find another job being here; double faced people with just word of mouth and no useful skills are found a lot here; company's policies have been changing in the recent time in a way not at all employee satisfying. So, the ones leaving should definitely take this as an opportunity and be as cheerful as they were and I wish they find the best place to work in the future with their Sound Technical Skills.
Verizon India is a shabby company with very bad management . They are playing with peoples career . It is whims and fancies of a few vested people .
Across vdsi the RIF is 12%. Total 900 people are shown pink slips out of 7k+ employees in India. Evicted employees are mostly having 12+ work experience in verizon.
But financially there is good support given when sending off. Giving full salary per no of years experience+2 months notice period buy off.
Verizon is not all good. My close friends who worked for so long has been fired. Bad management. Verizon is no more a good company. No values to their employees who served them for so long.
Yes it's true, Verizon India doing layoffs without any notice. They arranged third party vendors to do this process.
