Either those people got an axe or they were just spreading rumors
how are yours one on one meetings?
Yes, it will take a lot more to trust Sabre leadership after years of knee-jerk layoffs. You need to make your revenue? Fix the stability problems and create the modern applications our customers want. Want to trim the fat? Start at the top first.
Dear "There are NO LAYOFFS scheduled as of this time in any of the BUs rolling into Sean, which is all of them....Use your brains on this one: why would we have multiple rounds of layoffs in close succession? You think we undercounted the first time and need to add more? You think we didn't run every possible revenue scenario to make sure we were taking the appropriate action?"
I'm not sure of your position or who you represent at Sabre, but you are wrong. This behavior is embedded in the Sabre culture for years....many years. Sabre shoots from the hip when it comes to layoff's. Always have and always will. The difference this time that they are laying off to SAVE the business versus MANAGE the business. The failure to develop and execute a solid and cohesive long-term strategy is calling in the chips and the Sabre executives will NOT be the one's to make a sacrifice of any kind out of loyalty to the company....so they cut all the employees so keep their jobs and deliver short-term patch. I don't know, maybe your rant was to help you sleep just a little better. Good luck.
There are NO LAYOFFS scheduled as of this time in any of the BUs rolling into Sean, which is all of them. The previous reductions were thorough and put cost projections in line with our EPS requirements. Use your brains on this one: why would we have multiple rounds of layoffs in close succession? You think we undercounted the first time and need to add more? You think we didn't run every possible revenue scenario to make sure we were taking the appropriate action?
Contrary to popular belief, your executive team cares deeply about the well being of its employees. There's nothing disingenuous happening here. Sabre is not shy about the fact that its primary purpose is to generate returns for its shareholders; that's the whole reason we are vested with their dollars and allowed to exist, and the reason we all have jobs. So yes, if it becomes financially advantageous for the company to lay off employees, that's what it's going to do. Like every other company.
HR does not randomly reach out to employees to schedule nebulous meetings without any clue of the purpose. That's just not how we do business. If you were being laid off, or terminated, you will receive that news from your manager.
Don't be fooled by people trolling around on here posting from multiple different windows to "corroborate" each other's stories.
New method of laying off? Usually it's by surprise, come in and brought into a room. Maybe they're presenting a bonus plan to a few? And if that's the case, remember, the bonus contract is as good as the paper it's written on.
If HR has scheduled the meeting, it is most likely that the person is being let go.
Good Luck !!
Better spend weekend nicely dont think much...sabre is no more a place to work. .
Look for travelport, intuit or if you are good enough start your own startup as that's what I did and hired 4 my old buddies who got layyed off in july.
It's very difficult to survive in Sabre no one is safe here.
Sounds about right, ruin your holiday.
HR also scheduled 1 to 1 with me , but my manager didn't say anything when I asked about it.
I am Dev lead , Did HR asked you something. ?
Me too.. we will be laid off. I am sr. director at airline solutions. who is you?
