Thread regarding Verizon Communications Inc. layoffs

I was the Ops Mgr and had a total of over 17+ years, started with Cellular one then It changed to Alltel then it changed to Verizon, my doctor had just put me on long term disability (Thank goodness now). One month after I was out on disability, the Ops crew when in for work, got called in the office and was let go, and even escorted out!!! Some had been there well over 10-15 years. Severance package was only about 5 to 6 months worth of pay and no warning whatsoever. Verizon said the position had been terminated. Pretty crappy if you ask me.
