Will local management decide who gets laid off or are they going to be told who to lay off?
Well, it’s not new news; however, here is what we know:
The layoffs begin on April fifth.
Most of the Outsourcing will be announced the fist week of June. ITNUC and EUS are going to get hit particularly hard. The Unix and Linux Server folks will be outsourced as well. All Windows Server employees are going to take a hit as well.
Storage, Backup, and Project Management will be cut and outsourced
More information to follow. We met with IBM. We will see. Some details are still being worked out.
Posting on Communications under 10 Billion Cuts Topic for future updates. I will update as I receive more information. I’m in Management. I want to at least help some of my friends.
the long term plan, the last four years, is for device support to go back to the manufacturer. there is no profit to VZW to tote overhead for devices - VZW simply provides the network for the device to work on.
No longer activating devices in store locations, big meeting for all managers in Virginia in 2018. Rumors are rampant about selling/closing corporate locations nationwide.
Close the stores, Then their customer base will be walking around asking over and over how will get my information from my iPhone to my new iPhone, or coming in and asking what their email password is, or why their bill is so high, and to help them to pay their bill in 2017? It's got to stop! You have been bullsh-ting these people for too long! Tell the spoiled children to be adults and stop whining and you can do it themselves.
They are pretty much all on the Verizon page, but sounding like it’s not going to be a good day for Wireless support positions.
Stores gone by mid 2018
I haven’t heard anything yet. Stores and HQ quiet.
