Thread regarding Oracle Corp. layoffs

EBS Support Engineers getting mandatory Cloud "training"

They're making us take all these sessions for IAAS, SAAS, and PAAS. As an EBS support engineer, who gives a ? Is this part of a plan where they lay off their ineffective cloud engineers and make us EBS folks not only do EBS support but also cloud support? And I bet there's no raise involved.

BTW, cut the HUB. They're useless. There, I've just save Oracle a ton of money.

The lower contributors are the best management s---ups. Oracle does not reward hard work. It lays the hard-workers off.

@3ixg Being super busy is not job security around here. Lots of teams seem to lose the hardest working people only to leave the lower contributors still in-place. It's total chaos...

Maybe you'll be able to put some cloud buzzwords on your resume. I can't see what you are complaining about.Yeah, our cloud is total s--t, but almost no one uses it, so not a lot of work for support I'd guess.

I am doing Cloud support right now, anyone can do it - you need to figure out who your contacts are and connect/collaborate. That's all. It'll take you a week to take care of this.

I did EBS, Cloud support is not as hard, you have to know who to open collaborations with. The volume is higher though.

Who cares? Ignore the customer long enough and they will go away. I hear over 60% of the latest deals are in litigation anyway.

I don't think we have a enough customers to make it a big deal. Don't sweat it. Just show up state your name update the support ticket as "investigating" the browse the web and have fun on your phone.

Whatever sessions they put you on, will not teach anything of value for technically dealing with Cloud issues. Cloud support is being run by idiots.

You want a raise? Be real, you may get a cut instead.
