2018 Cuts

Someone told me that they had a call with their area manager yesterday and that person reported more cuts in 2018 on the network side of the house. The group is located in Georgia. This applies to management only employees

Cuts will continue until each manager has 10 or more direct reports. This was explicitly stated as a component of the 2020 Vision.

No more “special projects” teams with 5-7 FTE.

The code of conduct, like most of the rules, do not apply if you are at a certain level in the company. The code is just another rule to manage the herd.

"SHUT THE F--- UP" HR is ok with an AVP in Finance telling her reports this. guess their is no longer a code of conduct.

@khy: you’re right. The only reason people are cutting the cord is because they can either get the same or better connection on their smart phone. I’d be interested to see how much “cord cutting” is going on in areas that have access to AT&T Fiber.

They need to get rid of Eric Green. He ruined the buried wire crew and stuck us under MSOC so now we have to deal with that numbers mess.

@ejg: AT&T has shifted investment in to a failure of a product DirecTV now. U-verse had the capability of streaming OTT. People will still pay for cords they just want a faster connection! Silicon Valley is getting lit up with gig speeds.

My AVP said 2018 revenue will be "soft".... that says it all! One year ago, Uverse was forecasting growth to 40 million subscribers from base of 17 million.... Sometime during the past year, the product team changed the forecast to be 'flat'.... now they do not expect ANY growth.. just churn..... sad, so sad....

It’s no secret layoffs will continue and will accelerate in 2018 and 2019 but it won’t be limited to management.
