$100 million cost reduction worth of layoffs

CBI keeps talking about their $100 million cost reduction program. Has anyone explained just what that program is and how they plan on going about achieving this?? Their laying off people and letting good people go will not achieve that objective. What other ways do they plan on implementing to achieve this??????

Don't be naive, they don't need anything else. Laying people off is the easiest way to see that quarterly bump everybody at the top covets, so that's what they'll stick with. They don't care about long term, they've proven it over and over again. We'll keep losing good people until there's nobody left to lose. And by then it'll be too late. CBI is a dying company.

Senior VP of innovations was the joke of that year. That may be a good place start cutting cost. Then again, we can layoff all the technology team to cut cost.

I wonder if they will keep the Innovation folks? I bet they have switched from googling “ways to be innovative” to using Bing hoping to get different results.

The CBI corporate busy bodies will get slashed. The whole HSE group, Quality and the rest of global services will get flushed. It’s about time to pull that plug any way. Hopefully they wipe their rear ends with CMS and ditch Cintellate moving forward.

Mostly switching from two ply to one ply toilet paper. I don't know what a ply is, but people seem to like higher numbers when digging around.

CB&I is the most corrupt company I have ever worked for.

Usual CB&I way of cutting cost is to layoff their honest workers, specifically the ones who do not align with internal corruption. On the side, HR usually baits such workers with bogus confidentiality only to be pooled to be layed off.

Other possible way of cutting cost is to reduce salaries and benefits of the workers. Probably, 401k matching, PTO, and health plans will be further trimmed to do that. Even though open enrollment is over for 2018, they may downgrade benefits.
