Cmon, if verizon did nice things for its employees, we wouldnt need a union. This is a company that systematically breaks its workers down until they quit retire or die. This isnt comcast, we get treated like filth.

A 1k bonus for employees would cost them ~ 160 million...or a 1.6% deferment to their 10 billion dollar cost dollar reduction plan....chump change. If they don’t give out a bonus it’s an indication of bigger issues..

In order to give away $1,000 the verizon way would be to spend $600 on a consultant to find out the best way to spend the money, $250 for project managers, project $100 for the senior leadership and $50 to the employeee.
Are you kidding?...they work too hard to screw us out of paying commissions and overtime for the all mighty buck and you think they care what the other companies do...Ya right!

Big red WILL give in because not giving the bonuses would prove everything the unions say about him and greed would ring true, he is trying to break the union after all. No bonuses except to CEOs and shareholders would not look good. Im going to google to see if verizon is in fact giving the bonuses since at&t and comcast set the standard already (and boeing, and others)
Verizon got TWO wins this week.
First was net neutrality.
Second was this tax bill, so yeah, no bonus after all these big companies are giving them out would be a big F.U. to their employees.
I dont see how lowell avoids paying the $1000 since comcast and at+t already did so. My prediction is there will be a news story tomorrow or monday just to avoid the obvious greed stories and backlash that would come if verizon instead gives everything to lowell and crew. We shall see....
