Some people prefer to invest in memories. I understand your point about not being wasteful, but you can also enjoy life a little as you're going. Trust me when I say that there are many kids who spend their whole childhood living in a home full of sacrifice without enjoying the fruits of the labors who then become extravagant and wasteful when they have control of their money later on due to their unmet needs and wants. There has to be a happy medium.

I see so many of my peers who adjust up their lifestyle to the limit of their income. New cars every few years, big houses, expensive vacations every year, etc. I live in a modest area, drive my cars for 10+ years, maxed out my 401k to 16% of my income. I treated my annual bonus as a windfall and NEVER included it in my budget. It all went into investments. Now, I have no debt, paid cash for college for my two kids, and have over $1.5M in investments. I’m no genius. My wife and I came to agreement years ago that nothing we could buy would give us more satisfaction than the feeling of having money in the bank

don't count on overtime to plan your life in the future. why didn't you take a 401k loan at 2.5% interest?

Payday loans are the WORST type of finance out there. Interest rate alone will kill you off. DON'T EVER DO THAT!!!!!!

If you are that bad off that you need a pay day loan, you should have borrowed from your 401K. At least you’re paying yourself back instead of the loan shark pay day loan business.

one of my co workers is literally living out of his van because of the sudden pay decrease... Alot of us had budgets but we didnt take a 30% cut in pay into account. This is so incredably unfair to the fairline workers. We are doing double the work and making less money while people in corporate skate by doing nothing.

First rules of sales....don't live off of, or count on commission, especially with this company. And don't live above your means, if one paycheck is screwing you this bad you need a better plan. I agree the pay keeps getting worse, but you shouldn't be in dire straits form one bad paycheck. All of us have seen this coming for awhile.

If you need money that bad start selling stuff on Craigs List or eBay. Get a long term plan in place and live within your means. Payday loans are a symptom of a much larger issue you have to deal with.

Payday loans are up there with Western Union on the bad idea list.

Out of the frying pan and into the fire. Feels good for the moment but it wont be long before you deeply regret borrowing from those loan sharks.

The REAL answer is to dramatically reduce your spending, in keeping with your income, or lack thereof.

Getting a payday loan is not coming to terms with reality, it is putting off reality a while longer, and ensuring reality will be that much worse when it arrives.
